Full description

Amazon Devices & Services builds products that customers invite into the most personal spaces of their lives — their homes, their cars, their pockets. Earning and keeping that trust is a security mission, and we are looking for a Senior Security Engineering Manager to lead it.

In this role, you will own the security posture for a portfolio of device products and lead a high-performing team of security engineers who protect Amazon customers at scale. You will set a high bar for the team, raise it continuously, and lead the cultural and technical transformation needed to secure the next generation of connected devices including how we harness AI to do it better. You will operate as a trusted partner to Product Managers, engineering leaders, and executives up to the VP and C-suite level.

Key job responsibilities Lead and grow a high-performing team. Build, develop, and retain a team of security engineers and managers; coach leaders, raise the performance bar, and drive continuous improvement toward a higher standard of security engineering excellence.

Own device security outcomes. Set the security strategy and roadmap for a portfolio of device products, and hold the team accountable to measurable customer-security outcomes.

Drive cultural and organizational transformation. Lead change that elevates how the organization thinks about and delivers security — developing the next generation of leaders in the process.

Champion the AI transformation. Bring energy and vision to how AI reshapes security engineering — from detection and automation to how the team works — and lead your organization through that change.

Make data-driven decisions. Use metrics and evidence to prioritize, allocate, and defend investment; make the tradeoffs clear to stakeholders and executives.

Establish stakeholder mechanisms. Build durable mechanisms between your team and its internal and external customers — clear intake, prioritization, reporting, and feedback loops that scale.

Partner with Product Management. Work closely with Product Managers, hold them to a high bar, and ensure security is designed in from the start rather than bolted on.

Operate at the executive level. Communicate risk, strategy, and results credibly to VP and C-suite leaders, and influence decisions with backbone and customer obsession.

Basic Qualifications: - 10+ years of risk assessment and enabling organizations making security decisions experience - 10+ years of team management and building (including coaching and mentoring) experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field - Experience communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience - Experience triaging security risks or vulnerabilities and ensuring that they are properly understood by the business and fixed or mitigated - Experience in risk assessment and enabling organizations to make security decisions - Experience in team management and building (including coaching and mentoring)

Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of information security risk-based prioritization - Knowledge of information security technologies such as security design review, threat modeling, risk analysis, and software testing techniques - Experience managing remote team members
