Technical Project Manager – Cloud Transformation

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager for a full-time consulting assignment with a client in Gothenburg. The consultant will lead one or more cloud transformation projects, with an initial focus on migrating database services and application servers from an on-premises environment to Microsoft Azure.

This role requires both strong technical understanding and clear leadership. You will create structure, coordinate technical teams and suppliers, manage dependencies, and make sure the transformation moves forward according to plan.

Responsibilities

• Establish a clear and effective project structure.

• Create and maintain a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

• Plan, assign, coordinate, and follow up project activities.

• Lead the migration of Microsoft SQL Server databases to suitable services in Microsoft Azure.

• Coordinate the migration of related application servers running on Linux and Windows Server.

• Perform requirements analysis together with technical specialists and internal stakeholders.

• Identify and manage technical dependencies, risks, and challenges.

• Develop and maintain a communication plan for technical teams and other stakeholders.

• Coordinate internal development teams, infrastructure specialists, security representatives, IT operations, and external software suppliers.

• Actively support the technical specialists by taking ownership of coordination, planning, follow-up, and communication.

• Ensure progress, clear responsibilities, and alignment across all parties involved.

Requirements

• Strong experience as a Technical Project Manager in complex IT environments.

• Previous experience leading cloud transformation or infrastructure migration projects.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud migration principles.

• Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and database migration.

• Technical understanding of application servers, Linux, and Windows Server.

• Experience creating project structures, plans, and a WBS.

• Strong ability to understand technical dependencies and communicate them clearly.

• Experience coordinating internal teams, stakeholders, and external suppliers.

• A proactive and hands-on leadership style.

• Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English.

Nice to Have

• Experience from the banking or financial services sector.

• Experience migrating workloads from hosted or on-premises infrastructure.

• Knowledge of AWS and multi-cloud environments.

• Experience working with security, compliance, and governance requirements.

• Experience coordinating third-party software suppliers during infrastructure migrations.

Assignment Details

• Contract type: Consultant assignment

• Location: Gothenburg

• Workload: Full-time

• Start: As soon as possible, preferably within 30 days

• Duration: Initially until the end of 2027, with possible extension

• Work arrangement: To be agreed with the client
