About the role
You will design and deploy AI-powered features for internal platforms while providing analytical support for corporate strategy projects. This role involves bridging the gap between technical AI development and high-level consulting missions.
What they look for
Requirements
Candidates must be students at a top-tier business or engineering school with prior experience in consulting, data science, or AI. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with database technologies and LLM inference libraries are required.
Full description
KIWI is building an AI-powered ecosystem that centralizes firm knowledge and supports our day-to-day consulting operations. The ecosystem spans a family of platforms, including an agentic AI platform, a knowledge library, ingestion, staffing and sales tools, all running on AI skills that encode our consulting and asset management know-how.
The team runs on two complementary profiles: builders, who design and develop the infrastructure, and domain experts, who work with KIWI champions across the consulting team to encode their strategy consulting, due diligence, and asset management know-how into skills, and put them to work on every project.
In this hybrid role, you will operate at the intersection of Tech and Strategy: you will support high-level consulting missions while playing a pivotal role in building the firm's internal AI capabilities.
This job offer is for the builder (Junior Data Scientist) position, under the leadership of our Head of Data & AI.
Why join us
- Hybrid exposure - work at the intersection of hands-on AI engineering and high-level Corporate Strategy, spanning knowledge graphs, AI infrastructure, inference optimization, platforms and analytics pipelines
- Compounding impact - don't just analyze data, build the tools the entire firm will use, and that every consultant's projects run on
- A live ecosystem - the skills encoded by domain experts and KIWI champions run on what you build
- Culture - join a dynamic, international team that values innovation and intellectual curiosity
Innovation & AI development (KIWI platforms)
You will join the builders team behind the KIWI platform family. As an intern, you will:
- Build & implement - design, code and deploy new features for the KIWI platforms (chatbot, knowledge library, ingestion, staffing, sales and others), with a focus on NLP/LLM applications
- Work from a live roadmap - domain experts and KIWI champions collect user feedback and steer priorities across the firm, and you turn this prioritized agenda into shipped features
- Test & scale - prototype and stress-test new ideas, then harden and scale what works so the platforms deliver accurate, actionable value to consultants
Strategy consulting support (client focus)
You will work alongside experienced consultants on real corporate strategy projects, providing the numerical and analytical backbone for our recommendations. Your tasks will include:
- Data analysis - scrape, clean and model complex datasets to support strategic hypotheses
- Field research - conduct field research and interviews with market experts to gather qualitative insights
- Strategic recommendations - shape hypotheses and visualize findings to present clear, data-driven recommendations to leadership teams
Required qualifications
- Student in a top-tier business or engineering school/university
- At least one prior relevant experience in consulting, data science or AI
- Proven proficiency in Python is required: you must be comfortable reading code, developing scripts and working with data and LLM inference libraries (Pandas, NumPy, vLLM, Ollama, etc.)
- Full-stack literacy (a plus, not a must): a sense of how a project is architected end to end (back, front, database), ideally with some hands-on exposure
- Familiarity with relational (SQLite, PostgreSQL) and vector databases (e.g. Qdrant), and an interest in semantic search and RAG pipelines
- Full fluency in English; proficiency in French or German is a strong advantage, and a good working knowledge of other European languages is a plus
Soft skills
- You have a "consultant mindset": analytical, rigorous, and able to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- You enjoy sitting with users, watching how consultants actually work, and turning their feedback into shipped improvements
- You are proactive and comfortable being handed a problem rather than a spec, taking ownership, diving in, brainstorming solutions and building tools with a tangible impact on business performance
