Full description

Our client, a Texas public-sector organization, is looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead technology initiatives across application development, infrastructure, and information security. The role is hybrid, based in downtown Austin, and combines on-site and remote work. It's a full-time contract running from October 2026 through August 2027, with potential for extension. You'll be the main link between business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and leadership, delivering projects on scope, schedule, and budget in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and oversee IT projects and cross-functional project teams.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Track risks, issues, dependencies, and scope changes, and ensure adherence to project governance standards.
  • Coordinate vendor activities and track deliverables.
  • Use Agile methodology to define requirements and deliver quality solutions to end users.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of project management experience in an IT environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • 5+ years clarifying, structuring, and prioritizing project requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Preferred: PMP certification and Azure DevOps experience.
