Sales Arch

Position Summary

The Senior Architect serves as the embedded delivery architect supporting the assigned Salesforce delivery team. This role translates domain architecture direction, enterprise standards, and architectural guardrails into project-level solution designs and executable delivery plans.

The Architect maintains architecture continuity throughout the delivery lifecycle—from discovery and solution design through technical decomposition, implementation decisions, delivery assurance, and production readiness. The role partners closely with the Principal Architect, product and engineering leaders, technical leads, developers, business analysts, and other architects to ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, and aligned with the long-term Salesforce strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate domain strategy, target architecture, standards, and guardrails established by the Principal Architect into project-level solution architecture.
  • Lead solution design for initiatives delivered by the assigned delivery team, including architecture diagrams, technical approaches, integration considerations, data considerations, security requirements, and non-functional requirements.
  • Decompose large architecture solutions into sequenced, workable technical deliverables with clear boundaries, dependencies, implementation approaches, and ownership.
  • Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Engineering Leads, and Technical Leads to translate architecture into Jira epics, technical enablers, stories, and implementation milestones.
  • Determine the appropriate size, sequence, and working order of technical deliverables so Technical Leads can take ownership of clearly defined implementation work.
  • Maintain architecture involvement throughout implementation and close gaps between approved solution designs and the realities discovered during delivery.
  • Guide in-flight technical decisions, including configuration versus custom development, low-code versus pro-code approaches, integration patterns, data design, security design, and other implementation-level choices.
  • Review detailed designs and implementation outcomes to ensure alignment with architectural intent and approved standards.
  • Document significant architecture decisions, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and deviations.
  • Identify architecture risks, technical debt, cross-team dependencies, and non-functional concerns early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Recommend remediation when implementations deviate from approved architecture or create unacceptable platform risk.
  • Escalate cross-domain decisions, material exceptions, and enterprise-level concerns to the Principal Architect or appropriate architecture governance forum.
  • Provide architecture guidance and coaching to Technical Leads, developers, and other delivery team members.
  • Contribute reusable patterns, lessons learned, and delivery feedback to the Salesforce architecture community and Center of Excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Eight or more years of enterprise technology experience, including significant experience delivering solutions on the Salesforce platform.
  • Demonstrated experience performing solution or delivery architecture responsibilities within complex enterprise programs.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce solution design, configuration, custom development, integration, data, security, and application lifecycle considerations.
  • Experience translating high-level architecture into executable technical work packages and delivery backlogs.
  • Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions while maintaining alignment with long-term architecture.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and with tools such as Jira.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce architect-level or advanced technical certifications.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, multi-team Salesforce environments.
  • Experience operating within formal architecture governance and design-review processes.
  • Experience working in regulated, highly integrated, or globally distributed enterprise environments.

.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience required. Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
