JOB TITLE:                                     Python Developer

MAIN LOCATION:                       Jordan, Amman

Role Summary:

The Python Developer will support the ongoing development and enhancement of the Internal python-based application. The role involves building and maintaining features within a Python and Streamlit application, working with data and databases, resolving defects, and supporting testing and deployment activities.

Objective:

Support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of the streamlit application across its frontend, backend, and data components. Contribute to new features, workflow improvements, defect resolution, performance enhancements, and technical documentation while following established development and code-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update features using Python, Streamlit, and Pandas.
  • Build user interface components, workflow steps, and data validations.
  • Support backend logic, SQL queries, and database updates.
  • Investigate defects and implement fixes with guidance from senior developers.
  • Write unit tests and support QA and deployment activities.
  • Use GitLab and JIRA to manage code changes and development tasks.
  • Maintain technical documentation and participate in Agile ceremonies.
  • Optimize and refactor existing code for performance and maintainability

 

Key Skills:

  • Programming: intermediate Python skills and an understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Data: Experience using Pandas or similar data-processing libraries.
  • Databases: Basic SQL knowledge and an understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Application Development: Familiarity with Streamlit, Flask, Django, or a similar Python framework.
  • Version Control: Basic experience with Git and GitHub or GitLab.
  • Testing: Understanding of debugging, unit testing, and code-review practices.
  • APIs: Basic knowledge of REST APIs and application integrations.
  • Cloud: Awareness of Google Cloud, AWS, or Microsoft Azure concepts.
  • Development Practices: Familiarity with Agile delivery, CI/CD concepts, and software development lifecycles.

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

 

Experience: (0-2) years in software development, ideally with Python and cloud-based applications

 

Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate-level Python development skills.
  • Basic to intermediate experience with Streamlit, Pandas, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with Git and GitLab.
  • Understanding of debugging, unit testing, and REST APIs.
  • Basic awareness of cloud services and CI/CD practices.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving ability, proactive communication, and collaboration in agile teams.
  • Attention to detail when working with data, requirements, and business rules.
  • Ability to communicate progress, challenges, and technical issues clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively with developers, business analysts, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage priorities and contribute effectively within an Agile team.
