Job Description Summary:
Responsible for researching, designing, developing, testing and supporting new systems, applications, and solutions for enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks. Applies computer science, network engineering, and other cyber physical engineering disciplines to the design, development, integration, and support of new solutions or products that identify, exploit, protect against, or mitigate cyber security vulnerabilities. Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis of cyber security features, relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues. May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies.

Job Description:
- Establish and manage documentation as required to assist in the maintenance of good standing of an established DoD program that must maintain RMF compliance and approval.
- Install, configure, maintain, and document software information security products at multiple sites as required to assess system and application security
- Develop various reports and complete the form required to capture the security related status of a system. This includes, but is not limited to developing incident reports, vulnerability assessment, and standard configuration reports.
- Assist in the response to security incidents and disaster recovery events by conducting investigations, planning, exercises, and report generation.
- Research, recommend, and implement changes to procedures to protect data from future violations.
- Conduct internal and external security scans and assessments; with a good understanding of network security, system security, and application security.
- Work with operations and software development teams on remediation requirements.
- Work with application development teams and release management teams to integrate strong security controls into software development lifecycle.
- Monitor security websites, vendor alert mailing lists, and other information channels to evaluate emerging exploits. Works with Operations team to schedule patching or other remediation/mitigation efforts.
- Evaluate and assess compliance with established information assurance policies and regulations. Conduct and document risk and threat assessments.
- Make recommendations implementing countermeasures, prepares required documentation for and coordinate with senior engineers.
- Keep abreast of emerging security technologies and make appropriate recommendations regarding their implementation.
- Participate in projects as security subject matter expert and technical expert to ensure timely implementation or delivery of critical information security infrastructure.
- Have effective communication skills, both verbally and written; there are heavy documentation requirements for this project.
- Assist in educating users on security procedures.
