The assistant project manager will support geotechnical projects by performing field tasks, documenting site observations, and supervising drilling or test pit crews. They are also responsible for classifying soils, conducting in-situ testing, and maintaining communication regarding site conditions.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a related field. A valid driver's license is required for travel to project sites, and no prior professional experience is necessary.
Full description
Responsibilities
- Primarily involved with assisting staff with field tasks supporting geotechnical projects
- Responsibilities include clearly documenting site observations for both construction materials testing (CMT) and geotechnical field work performed
- Other duties may include assisting with or performing the following with limited supervision:• Perform boring and test pit layouts
- Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances
- Perform research on local geologic history
- Assist with supervision of field work performed by drilling/test pit crews and assist with rig access issues.
- Perform in-situ testing
- Classify soils
- Keep project staff informed of changing site conditions and/or additional testing requested on project sites
Qualifications
- Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
- No experience required
- Professional license is not required in this position but is necessary to progress in career
- If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required.
