Full description

Why Now?

The energy market is going through its biggest shift in 50 years. We no longer just supply electricity, we make it intelligent. RABOT is growing triple digits, and two of our squads carry that growth: the Basic Squad keeps the reliable core that everything rests on, and the Smart Asset Squad builds new smart features fast and entrepreneurially.

We are bringing in a dedicated Engineering Manager to lead both squads: delivery, technical health and, above all, the people. That is where you come in.

Your Mission

You lead the Basic and Smart Asset Squads as their Engineering Manager. You keep both squads shipping reliably, keep their architecture healthy and help every engineer grow.

In practice that means you run delivery for both squads (planning, dependency management, clear priorities) and work hand in hand with the Product Managers. You make sure the technical architecture stays healthy and sustainable, manage team performance, enable the individual development of your engineers, hire new talent and continuously raise the bar on engineering and operational excellence. And you help your engineers get more leverage out of AI in how they build.

The two squads could not be more different, and that is part of the job: the Basic Squad is stability-oriented, the Smart Asset Squad is entrepreneurial and fast. You give each the leadership style it needs and hold the balance between them.

Your Results

We think in outcomes, not task lists. If you are successful, here is what that looks like:

Month 3 (ramp-up)

  • You have onboarded to the squads' products, setup, tech and architecture, and to the people.
  • You have identified the main challenges across both squads.
  • You have taken over leadership for the engineers and built a trusted collaboration with the Product Managers.

Month 6 (performance)

  • You have built a solid understanding of the business.
  • You contribute to roadmap planning and technical strategy.
  • You are established in the engineering leadership round and contribute to it actively.
  • You drive major local improvement initiatives, for example better tooling and workflows that make Designers and Product Managers more effective.

Month 12 (scale)

  • You contribute to and support overarching engineering initiatives beyond your own squads.

Who We Are Looking For

  • People-first leader: You manage team performance, enable the individual development of your engineers and build trust quickly. Strong people and communication skills are non-negotiable for this role.
  • Delivery manager: You keep two squads shipping reliably through clear planning, dependency management and priorities, in close alignment with Product.
  • Technical steward: You ensure a healthy, sustainable technical architecture and make sound trade-offs, even when you are not writing most of the code yourself.
  • Balancer: You can lead a stability-oriented squad and an entrepreneurial one at the same time, and give each the leadership style it needs.
  • Builder of excellence and teams: You raise the bar on engineering and operational excellence, hire strong engineers and grow the people you already have.
  • AI enabler: You help your engineers increase their leverage of AI in how they build.

Nice to have: .NET experience and experience in the energy market.

What We Offer

  • Ownership: You own two squads end to end and shape how they deliver, with real room to set the bar.
  • Room to shape: A lot is still taking shape here, so you influence how we build instead of maintaining finished processes.
  • Culture: Transparent collaboration. We celebrate mistakes as long as we learn from them.

Your Extras

  • Employee discount on RABOT Energy electricity tariff
  • Urban Sports Club partnership + Deutschlandticket
