About the Role
John Cockerill is a global engineering group founded in 1817 and headquartered in Seraing, Belgium, delivering large-scale technological equipment across energy, defense, and industry. John Cockerill Energy is executing a 2026–2030 IT, digital and Applied-AI transformation across Cooling, Energy Solutions and Energy Transition, including a shift from experimental agents to industrialized, governed AI products. The AI Product Manager owns the AI product life cycle end-to-end — from opportunity and use-case definition, through prototyping and delivery, to adoption, ROI realization and responsible retirement. This is a business-facing product-leadership role — not a coding position — that sits at the intersection of business value, data readiness, multi-agent architecture and Group AI governance. This role ensures that every AI product has a named owner, a prioritized backlog, measurable business outcomes and full compliance with the Group Policies and the EU AI Act. Product ownership remains with the business, not the developers.

Own the vision, roadmap and prioritized backlog for assigned AI products across the three business lines. Translate business priorities into product increments; balance value, effort, risk and data readiness. Maintain a transparent intake-to-Go/No-Go pipeline aligned with the Energy AI use-case portfolio.
- Use-Case Qualification & Value Realization
Identify, qualify and business-case AI opportunities (proposal & bid intelligence, engineering QA, contract intelligence, schedule risk, knowledge management, predictive maintenance). Define target KPIs, benefits baselines and ROI per product; track realized value and recommend scale, pivot or retire decisions.
- Delivery, Governance & Compliance
Act as the accountable Product Owner in the Multi-Agent AI Governance framework — no vacant roles, backups defined. Steer sprints with Applied AI engineers. Enforce architecture-review, production-readiness and sign-off gates with the ITBP, ICT, Security and Data owners; ensure EU AI Act documentation and Group AI-policy compliance.
- Adoption, Change & Enablement
Drive user adoption and workflow redesign so AI products land in daily work. Prepare adoption materials, champion networks and training; monitor usage (WAU/MAU), feedback and satisfaction. Partner with BL AI Leads to embed products into engineering, tendering, execution and services.
- Budget, Cost & Consumption Monitoring
Own the product-level budget: estimate build/run costs, track cloud, token, API and license consumption against forecast, and flag overruns. Maintain a per-product cost-and-ROI view for Energy Management and integrate FinOps discipline into the product life cycle.
- Stakeholder & Partner Management
Serve as the single point of contact between business stakeholders, Applied AI CoE, Group ICT and external partners Facilitate steering reviews, manage vendor scope and deliverables, and influence stakeholders across a global matrix without hierarchy.
