Full description

At amaysim, it’s not just the customers that get all the Big Love – we make sure our people feel it too! Our people are the staple of our culture and everything we do is driven by our four key values, with empathy at the heart of it all. We work hard and have fun in the process, always looking for new ways to innovate and encourage whilst remaining true to our roots.

You’ll build, deliver and keep improving our customer experience across the amaysim website and mobile app. It’s a practical, hands-on role centred on UX design and journey optimisation.

You’ll sit in the Marketing & CX team and work closely with Product, Technology, CVM, CX and Coordinated Marketing. You’ll design experiences that are easy to use, and you’ll get involved in updating the platform and supporting delivery.

You’ll set and maintain UX guidelines across web and app, help deliver digital releases, and keep refining the customer journeys that matter most. Flutter experience is a plus, as our web and app platforms are built with it.

What You’ll Do

  • You’ll own the full product experience across web and app.
  • You’ll design simple, accessible experiences that meet customer needs, fit our business goals and work within technical limits.
  • You’ll build wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs, and prototype ideas quickly to test them.
  • You’ll work with engineers so designs get built the way they were intended, and keep improving the experience.
  • You’ll use research and analytics to find what frustrates customers, then turn it into practical fixes.
  • You’ll help grow our design system with reusable patterns and components.
  • You’ll run experiments and A/B tests to improve customer journeys, and use AI tools to speed up research and ideas.

What You Bring

  • You’ll bring at least 7 years of UX experience, with a strong portfolio that shows good product thinking and customer-focused design.
  • You’ll have experience taking products from early discovery through to production, working closely with engineers.
  • You’ll have experience across shared web and app platforms. Flutter is preferred.
  • You’re good at journey mapping, usability testing and improving end-to-end customer journeys.
  • You work well with Product, Technology, Marketing and external partners.
  • You’re comfortable using data and testing to make UX decisions.
  • You’re practical, adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced team.
  • You’re curious about new technology, AI and how digital products get built.
  • You share amaysim’s values of empathy, simplicity, agility and reliability.
  • You have a track record of growing digital results, with sound commercial judgement.

The good stuff…

  • Competitive remuneration and colleague discounts. Make life easier (and more affordable) with $80 monthly credit and 25% off Optus products and unique shopping discounts with our retail partners.
  • Flexible working arrangements with opportunities to work three days in the office, two days remote or home.
  • Competitive leave policies, including additional 'Connected’ days to focus on culture, family, health, community, or whatever’s important to you.
  • We support growing families with inclusive, carer-neutral paid Parental Leave of up to 16 weeks.
  • Build meaningful connections through colleague-led networks and diversity initiatives including Culture Connect, Elevate Women, Disability Network, and Express Yourself (LGBTQIA+).
  • Put your wellbeing first with free access to counselling and support services, 24/7 — in-person, by phone, SMS, or video.

At Optus, we are strengthened by others and that means valuing diversity and saying ‘yes’ to embracing individual differences.

We are committed to ensuring that our application process provides an equal employment opportunity to all job seekers, including individuals from diverse gender, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, individuals with a disability, individuals identifying as being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals who may have served in the armed forces or who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

We also want to do our best to make our recruitment process inclusive.
