What you’ll be doing:
At the RFS, every role contributes to protecting lives, property, and the environment. As a Senior Data Analyst (Performance Reporting & Analysis), you’ll play a vital role in supporting evidence-based decisions through data insights that strengthen operational preparedness and emergency response. As a key member of the Performance Reporting & Analysis team, you’ll be responsible for turning operational data into meaningful performance intelligence that supports strategic planning and continuous improvement. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Lead the delivery of data analytics, performance reporting and information management to provide evidence-based insights that support strategic decision-making, operational performance and organisational priorities.
- Develop, implement and continuously improve performance measures, reporting frameworks and analytical solutions that ensure the quality, integrity and effective use of organisational data.
- Provide expert advice on data governance, analytics and performance measurement, ensuring compliance with data governance, privacy requirements, business rules and organisational standards.
- Design, manage and maintain organisational data assets, reporting products and business intelligence solutions that translate complex operational data into clear, actionable insights for executive and operational stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain data standards, documentation, data dictionaries and reporting practices to strengthen data quality, consistency, transparency and organisational capability.
- Build organisational capability in data analytics and performance reporting by mentoring analysts, reviewing analytical work, and providing guidance, coaching and technical support to stakeholders across the RFS.
Our Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical professional with demonstrated experience in research, report writing, and the preparation of high-quality publications. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analysis capabilities, with experience interpreting complex information and producing evidence-based insights to support decision-making.
You will bring a sound understanding of emergency services operations and ideally have a background working with incident-related data, operational reporting, and performance information. Your ability to translate complex data into meaningful reports, recommendations, and strategic outcomes will be highly regarded.
