Full description

We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our Technology team and help shape solutions that connect our customers with the stories and sport they love.In this role, you’ll work from concept through to implementation, translating business goals, customer needs and product priorities into clear, actionable requirements. You’ll support teams to deliver practical, customer-focused outcomes while giving designers, developers and delivery partners the clarity they need to innovate. You’ll be a key connector between Product Owners, stakeholders, delivery teams and external partners, keeping scope, priorities, risks and outcomes visible so everyone can move in the same direction. As this role engages with stakeholders and team members in both of Sky's Auckland offices, it is important that you'll be able to worth across both Auckland CBD and Mt Wellington offices.

  • Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand business goals, product vision and strategic priorities.
  • Gather, analyse and validate business needs through workshops, interviews, process mapping and collaborative discovery.
  • Turn requirements into clear epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria that support effective delivery.
  • Maintain and prioritise the product backlog with the Product Owner, ensuring decisions reflect business value and customer impact.
  • Act as a trusted link between internal teams and delivery partners, supporting alignment on scope, timelines, quality and deliverables.
  • Review deliverables, coordinate internal user acceptance testing and ensure requirements remain traceable through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Identify risks, issues, gaps and opportunities for improvement, then communicate options and recommendations clearly.
  • Create and maintain useful documentation, including business cases, process flows, training material and stakeholder collateral where needed.

You’ll bring strong business analysis experience, a collaborative mindset and the confidence to work across technology, product and operational teams. You’re curious, practical and customer-focused, with the ability to bring different perspectives together and turn complexity into clear, useful outcomes. Together with this, you’ll have:

  • At least five years’ experience in business analysis, business innovation or a similar role.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent body of knowledge gained through experience.
  • Experience with product delivery or project management approaches and tools, including agile, iterative or plan-driven ways of working.
  • Strong process, benefits and analysis skills, with experience using suitable analysis methods and tools such as BPMN.
  • A tech-savvy approach and the judgement to know when specialist input is needed to shape cohesive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across teams.
  • A positive, solution-focused style, strong personal accountability and a drive to improve outcomes for customers, teams and partners.
