QA Analyst, Hearts of Iron IV

At Paradox Studios Gold we develop Hearts of Iron(HoI) - a complex and detailed World War II Grand Strategy Game with a ten year legacy. We are looking for new QA Analysts to expand our QA team and support ongoing development work.

A successful HoI QA Analyst will use their Grand Strategy Game enthusiasm and experience to find great bugs and report them, playtest and write effective qualitative feedback, identify risks to product quality and communicate all the above with clarity and diplomacy.

Please note the following!

We are hiring Analysts at different levels:

• Junior (no previous QA experience, but extensive experience with HoI IV required)

• Experienced (3+ years of professional QA experience).

If your application is selected we will discuss the level we think you would be suitable for.

• These roles are 100% on site in our Stockholm office, 5 days a week. Hybrid and remote working are not available.

• All applicants must already have EU citizenship and/or the right to live and work permanently in Sweden.

Tasks and responsibilities you will have:

• QA Point of Contact for specific features, content, releases etc.

• Test, find, reproduce, report and regress bugs

• Playtest and provide feedback

• Work with external QA teams; keeping them informed and assisting with test planning and tasking

• Liaise with developers

• Find and flag product risks

Skills, knowledge and experience you will need:

• Games QA experience; either 2+ years as professional QA or a strong interest in QA demonstrated via participation in Alpha/Beta testing etc..

• Bug tracking software; either extensive experience with JIRA or similar - or some familiarity with the basic concepts of bug tracking and writing, and experience putting these into practice with simpler bug tracking software.

• AI; experience using agentic AI tools effectively to improve your ability to deliver on your QA responsibilities, or at minimum familiarity with basic AI tools and ability to write decent prompts to help answer questions and solve problems.

• Communication; you will need to be clear, concise and diplomatic at all times.

• English; formal qualification not required, but you will need spoken and written English at CEFR C1 level or better.

Things to elevate your application!

• Grand Strategy Game experience

• For applicants with no previous QA experience: strong Hearts of Iron knowledge and experience is essential. To qualify you will need significant played time in HoI IV.

• For applicants with strong previous QA experience: HoI knowledge is more optional - but an interest in the Grand Strategy genre and a willingness to learn are very much required.

• C++ experience.

• This is what our game is written in, so specific knowledge and experience would be useful.

• AI knowledge.

• More extensive experience of working with Agentic AI in a QA context, including AI supported coding of QA tools from scratch, and AI automation.
