DevOps AI application manager - USA

The Role

Cogniify is hiring an AI Application Engineer in Austin, Texas. We are looking for a hands-on software engineer who can build Generative AI features, integrate them into enterprise applications, and run them reliably on AWS. You should be comfortable writing production code in .NET and C#, or Java, and working across AI development, cloud infrastructure and DevOps. This role is for someone who enjoys building the application and taking responsibility for how it performs after deployment.

What You Will Do

• Build AI-enabled application features and services using .NET/C# or Java, with Python where needed for AI integrations.

• Integrate large language models and AI APIs, including the Claude API, into applications and business workflows.

• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and agentic AI workflows that use business data to answer questions or complete tasks.

• Design prompts, tools and application logic for AI agents, then test their outputs, reliability and behavior.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, and automate AWS infrastructure with Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools.

• Deploy and operate containerized applications on Kubernetes, including Amazon EKS, using sound GitOps practices.

• Monitor application health, logs and performance; troubleshoot incidents and improve security, observability and production reliability.

• Work with engineering and business teams to turn use cases into working applications and communicate progress clearly.

What We Are Looking For

• Strong software engineering experience with .NET/C# preferred; strong Java experience is also welcome.

• Hands-on experience building and deploying Generative AI applications, including LLM integrations, RAG and AI agents.

• Experience integrating the Claude API or comparable LLM APIs into application workflows.

• Working knowledge of Python for connecting models, tools and application services.

• Practical experience deploying and supporting production applications on AWS.

• Hands-on DevOps skills across CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes or Amazon EKS, and Terraform or similar infrastructure as code.

• A clear understanding of monitoring, application security and how to keep cloud applications stable in production.

Preferred Experience

• Claude tool use, prompt engineering and evaluating AI outputs in production.

• GitOps workflows and observability tools used in production environments.

• Experience integrating AI capabilities into existing enterprise .NET or Java applications.
