Job Description

We are now looking for a Hardware Engineering Manager located in Shanghai to lead our hardware team within Research Asia, to develop products and technology prototypes and deliver high-quality products.

Our hardware team is a multidisciplinary team that manages the entire product lifecycle from initial concept to final delivery. By integrating mechanical engineering, electronics design, PCB layout design, and hardware testing into a single cohesive unit, we ensure a closer collaboration that delivers high-quality products.

What you’ll do here as Hardware Engineering Manager?

As Hardware Engineering Manager, you will build the bridge connecting the corporate long-term strategy to the technical execution, ensuring that our mechanical, electronic, and testing resources are optimized to deliver world-class technology and products. You will be responsible for not only the high-quality delivery of our products but also for the sustainable growth and professional evolution of the engineers within your team.

  • Long term team planning following the big picture and team strategies
  • Allocate suitable resources to support technology study and product development projects
  • Work closely with project management to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery to meet product development targets
  • Facilitate sustainable growth both in team competence and resources
  • Coach and guide your team members to support them to grow up following the career path
  • Be the contact point and represent your team inside and outside the organization, to communicate and to build engagement
  • Dare to set ambitious team goals and inspire the team to succeed, ability to handle multi-tasks

Who are we looking for/Who are you?

We are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Leader with a deep technical competence in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering to head our multidisciplinary hardware organization. The ideal candidate will bring solid hands-on development experience and a proven track record of managing diverse teams through the entire product lifecycle—from initial definition to final release. We are looking for a meticulous leader who balances a passion for high-performance design with a rigorous commitment to safety, reliability, and industry compliance.

​We'd love to hear that you have/are:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • 8+ years of practical hands-on experience in hardware development
  • 5+ years’ experience of managing teams of 10+ engineers as people manager and proven track record of managing teams that include both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines
  • Solid understanding of hardware reliability, safety and electronic performance tests
  • Experience with regulatory compliance
  • Attention to detail with quality, design and reliability
  • Solid experience of recruiting, coaching and mentoring team members
  • Experience of managing a full product cycle from product definition to design, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance
  • Fluent English is required
  • Product development experience in relevant industries such as IoT, video surveillance is a good plus
