Full description

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables and direct customer and business impact. We are looking for talented people who are builders at core and obsessed about solving problems for our customers at scale.

Amazon Route 53 in AWS Infra Services (AIS) is a highly available and scalable cloud Domain Name System (DNS) service for all of Amazon, powering AWS services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, CloudFront, and Lambda as well as other Amazon properties such as www.amazon.com. In addition to these large and fast-growing businesses, hundreds of thousands of AWS customers rely on Route 53 for DNS management, Recursive DNS and DNS Filtering. The Route 53 services are powered by purpose-built software developed from the grounds-up at Amazon to meet the unique functionality, unprecedented scale and high availability requirements that our customers demand. The services already support some of the largest workloads in the world, and we are constantly scaling and improving it to keep up with our ongoing rapid growth. Route 53 is not just foundational for AWS services and AWS customers but is also a significant, standalone revenue generating business within AWS.

The Route 53 team is seeking a talented, self-directed Senior Product Manager to drive key areas of our strategy and vision for Route 53. In this role, you will define, execute, and deliver a product roadmap that adds great value to our internal and external customers. This role is inherently cross-functional - you will work closely with customers (direct interactions), the engineering team, solution architects, design, sales, finance and executive teams. You will advocate for our customers and help us build the future of DNS services including Private and Public DNS. In this role, you will come up with your own long term vision that includes future roadmap for existing revenue generating products, writing working backwards documents for new products, handle pricing, go-to-market and expansion activities, in other words, are responsible for the entire product lifecycle for some critical AWS products.

In this role, you will join a diverse team of Product Managers, UX designers, solution architects, software, hardware, and network engineers. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Are you excited about solving large-scale customer problems at scale? Do you want to envision and build/manage products that generate millions of dollars in revenue? Are you passionate about products that are easy to use, do exactly what you expect, and work 100% of the time? If the answer to above questions is yes, then this is the right role for you.

  • Drive cross-functional execution with engineering, sales, marketing, and support teams
  • Own business outcomes including revenue growth, customer adoption, and market positioning
  • Engage with enterprise customers and partners to understand requirements and validate solutions
  • Make high-judgment trade-offs between features, technical debt, and time-to-market
