The opportunity
We are seeking a System Administrator to oversee, support, and secure our localized and global IT infrastructure. This hybrid role requires technical ownership across a varied portfolio, including on-premises Microsoft servers, Microsoft Azure cloud services, VMware virtualization, and localized manufacturing systems (MES). In addition to managing daily infrastructure health alongside global Wintel teammates, you will act as the principal point of contact for internal audits, major incidents, and system security compliance.
The role
- Global Server Infrastructure: Collaborate closely with the Global Wintel team to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual architectures, including Dell/Cisco compute servers, enterprise VMware environments, and legacy tape libraries.
- Core Microsoft Administration: Act as the subject matter expert for the local and corporate Microsoft ecosystem, maintaining Active Directory (AD), DHCP, DNS, SharePoint, and core File/Print server infrastructure.
- Hybrid Azure Cloud Support: Administer and optimize our growing Microsoft Azure Cloud footprint, managing Virtual Machines (VMs), Azure SQL Managed Instances, and various interconnected cloud resources.
- Data Protection & Disaster Recovery: Oversee enterprise backup solutions utilizing Commvault; meticulously monitor daily backup health and manage lifecycle protocols, including securing and sending physical tapes to offsite locations.
- Enterprise Patching & Security: Coordinate and execute monthly systems patching lifecycles across local physical servers, cloud-hosted virtual machines, corporate workstations, and specialized MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
- Manufacturing Systems (MES) Support: Own the setup, continuous baseline maintenance, and operational support of local MES to prevent production downtime.
- Vendor & Lifecycle Management: Partner with third-party technical vendors for tier-3 platform support. Assist management with localized IT budget requirements and strategic vendor service evaluations.
- SCCM / MECM Imaging: Manage the local endpoint environment using Microsoft SCCM/MECM, working in tandem with the global team to maintain, build, deploy, and support the standardized corporate image alongside specialized package creation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Operations Center to improve automated infrastructure monitoring. Provide technical assistance to varying application and infrastructure project groups.
- Mobility: Flexibility to travel between localized operational facilities as required.
The requirements
- Windows Server Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience engineering and administering Microsoft Windows Server environments (specifically including Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025).
- Virtualization Mastery: 5+ years of technical experience configuring and supporting VMware ESXi and vCenter deployments (versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.x and 9.x).
- Cloud Infrastructure: 5+ years of operational experience managing workloads, compute, and services within the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
- Directory & Network Services: 5+ years of comprehensive experience with Active Directory architecture, group policies, DNS, DHCP, SharePoint configurations, and enterprise file and print server management.
- Endpoint & OS Knowledge: 5+ years of advanced knowledge handling modern Microsoft client operating systems, specifically paired with deep experience supporting SCCM task sequences, image deployments, and package maintenance.
- Data Management: Proven, direct experience managing Commvault software architectures coupled with physical Tape Library rotations.
- Industrial IT: Demonstrated experience supporting specialized industrial environments or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills in English. Must be highly self-motivated and capable of operating autonomously while remaining a cohesive teammate within local and global circles.
- Project & Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills with a proven track record of coordinating multiple complex tasks simultaneously, prioritizing active workloads, and meeting tight organizational deadlines.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Infrastructure, Business Intelligence (BI), and Development teams across international sites.
- Operational Flexibility: Flexibility and willingness to participate in a rotational, on-call framework to support a 24/7 global manufacturing operation
