JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead day-to-day project management activities for the Pantheon Migration and Cloudflare Advanced Bot Protection implementation efforts at Smithsonian Institution. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordination, execution oversight, stakeholder engagement, reporting, risk management, and overall project governance to ensure successful delivery of both initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Establish and manage project governance processes, status reporting, and decision tracking.
- Coordinate project activities across multiple Smithsonian offices, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Monitor progress against schedule, scope, budget, and performance objectives.
- Facilitate project meetings and document decisions, action items, and follow-up activities.
- Coordinate vendor activities and ensure migration milestones are achieved.
- Support communications and change management activities associated with the transition to the enterprise hosting platform.
- Coordinate deployment activities for Cloudflare enterprise services, including advanced bot management capabilities.
- Track implementation milestones, testing activities, security reviews, and operational readiness requirements.
- Coordinate activities between security, network, web operations, and vendor teams.
- Facilitate implementation planning, risk mitigation, and transition to steady-state operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications include:
- Must be a US Citizen and have ability to pass a federal government background check.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing enterprise IT projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder technology initiatives.
- Experience with project management methodologies, tools, and reporting practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing schedules, budgets, risks, vendors, and technical teams.
- Experience managing cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, hosting platform, cybersecurity, or web technology projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SaaS, cloud hosting, CDN, security, web application firewall (WAF), DDoS protection, or bot management implementations.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, ScrumMaster, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience working within federal, research, educational, cultural, or non-profit organizations.
