Overview
Responsible for leading business and technology initiatives within Equipment Finance, including the evaluation, modernization, implementation, and optimization of technology capabilities supporting origination, underwriting, servicing, asset management, customer experience, and operational workflows. Partners closely with business leaders, technology teams, architects, vendors, and transformation resources to define future-state capabilities, develop implementation roadmaps, and deliver business value through technology modernization.
The ideal candidate will possess deep equipment finance expertise, experience with servicing and lease management platforms, and a proven track record supporting large-scale technology transformation and leading implementation initiatives.
- This position can also be located out of our Buffalo, Rochester or Rockville Corporate Office Locations
Primary Responsibilities
Product & Platform Strategy
- Define and maintain the vision, strategy, and roadmap for equipment finance platform enablement initiatives.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, scalability, risk management, and profitability through technology modernization.
- Translate business objectives into platform capabilities, epics, features, and implementation priorities.
- Evaluate current-state processes, systems, data flows, and operational pain points to identify modernization opportunities.
Transformation & Implementation
- Lead end-to-end technology transformation initiatives involving equipment finance servicing, origination, document management, workflow automation, customer portals, reporting, and integrations.
- Collaborate with technology teams, enterprise architects, and implementation partners to define future-state solutions and deployment roadmaps.
- Support platform assessments, vendor evaluations, proofs of concept, and business case development.
- Ensure successful delivery of system upgrades, platform consolidations, migrations, and modernization programs.
- Coordinate business readiness, testing, operational transition, and post-implementation adoption activities.
Equipment Finance Domain Leadership
- Serve as a subject matter expert for equipment finance business processes, including:• Origination
- Credit and underwriting
- Documentation and funding
- Servicing
- Billing and collections
- Asset and collateral management
- End-of-term processing
- Partner with operations and servicing teams to ensure platform decisions align with business needs and future operating models.
- Drive continuous improvement across the equipment finance customer and employee experience.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Build strong partnerships across business, technology, operations, risk, finance, and external vendors.
- Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and future-state design discussions.
- Challenge assumptions and drive data-driven decision making regarding platform investments and priorities.
- Manage relationships with platform providers, implementation partners, and consulting organizations.
Data, Reporting & Governance
- Define KPIs and success measures for platform modernization initiatives.
- Monitor benefits realization, adoption metrics, operational outcomes, and customer experience improvements.
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, data strategy, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
- Support governance forums, steering committees, and executive-level reporting.
Risk & Controls
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
- Identify and escalate transformation, technology, operational, and vendor-related risks.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards and support audit and regulatory remediation activities as needed.
Education & Experience Required
Required
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of experience in Equipment Finance, Leasing, Commercial Banking, Product Management, Operations, Technology, Program Management, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading technology implementation, modernization, or transformation initiatives.
- Deep understanding of equipment finance servicing and lease management processes.
- Experience working with servicing and lease management systems such as:• InfoLease
- Alfa
- LTi
- Odessa
- Similar equipment finance servicing platforms
- Experience partnering with business and technology teams to define requirements and deliver complex solutions.
- Strong skills in stakeholder management, requirements development, roadmap planning, and executive communication.
Preferred
- Direct experience supporting or implementing InfoLease upgrades, migrations, or integrations.
- Experience with equipment finance origination, servicing, collateral management, and customer portal solutions.
- Experience with system integration, workflow automation, document management, CRM, and data/reporting platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile product management methodologies and tools.
- Experience working with third-party software vendors, system integrators, or consulting partners.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $98,500.00 - $164,100.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
