Legato, LLC recruiters (Staffing@legatocorp.com) would love to speak with you regarding the following position: DevOps Engineer in Fort Meade, MD. Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph Salary Range: $150,000-$170,000, depending on experience. What You Will Do:
The DevOps Engineer will support the deployment, administration, integration, testing, and ongoing operation of complex technical systems across laboratory, development, testing, and operational environments. This role combines hands-on Linux system administration with modern DevOps practices, including containerization, Kubernetes, cluster orchestration, cloud deployment, and system integration.
The DevOps Engineer will deploy, configure, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot systems and software while ensuring reliable integration with enterprise infrastructure, services, and databases. The Engineer will provide advanced Tier 3 technical support, diagnose system failures and performance degradation, and restore systems to full operational capability.
This individual will also support system installations and upgrades, optimize deployed environments, maintain technical documentation and procedures, and contribute to the development and maintenance of system standards and supporting databases. The position requires someone comfortable working across the full deployment lifecycle and independently troubleshooting complex technical issues in mission-critical environments.
Our minimum requirements for this role:
- Four (4) years of experience with software and system deployments, Linux system administration, containerization, cloud deployments, and DevSecOps
- Recent experience within the last three (3) years with Kubernetes
- Recent experience within the last three (3) years with cluster orchestration
- Recent experience within the last three (3) years with containerization
- Experience integrating, testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing systems within enterprise infrastructures, services, and databases
- Experience providing advanced Tier 3 technical support for system failures and performance issues
- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation and procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Four (4) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- A Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science may substitute for two (2) years of required experience
- Active IAT Level II / DoD 8570-compliant certification, such as Security+, and CCNA certification
- Ability to provide 24/7 call-in support for critical system issues
- Willingness to travel for system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
