Job Responsibilities:
As an important member of our Finance team you will:
· Responsible for monthly financial accounting, including journal entries, accruals and financial analysis, to ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial results for Business Units
· Prepare monthly financial reports including Income Statement
· Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close
· Lead quarterly forecast process by partnering with Business Units leaders
· Compare actual results with forecast to analyze and identify areas of strengths and weakness
· Develop and deliver a consistent and accurate analysis of business performance using KPI and non-financial data to highlight performance
· Liaise with the various Business Unit Managers to provide support as required
· Prepare account reconciliations including prepayment and accruals schedules on monthly basis.
· Review account reconciliations FA prepared
· Prepare monthly commissions schedule for payroll processing
· Prepare ad hoc financial analysis as required by Management
· Prepare note disclosures for quarter-end and year-end
· Train and mentor junior analyst and other staff on best financial practices
· Assist with internal and external audit requests as required
· Continuously improve procedures; develop reports to drive insight and accountability
Job Qualifications:
· Attained a Business/Finance degree (i.e. MBA, BBA. etc.) with preference given to those with relevant further study/designations (CGA/CMA/CA/ACCA)
· Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience as a senior financial analyst, financial analyst, or in a similar position
· Advanced skills and experience in MS Office Excel
· Excellent administrative and organizational skills with ability to set priorities, adjust and respond professionally to changing priorities and ad hoc issues
· Excellent communication and interpersonal savviness skills with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management. Possesses strong leadership/command skills and demonstrates organizational agility
· Ability to learn new concepts and tasks quickly, work under pressure, and meet deadlines requirements in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
· Excellent technical learning, analytical and problem solving skills
· Knowledge of IFRS is an asset
· Experience with Great Plains accounting software an asset
