Position: Business Analyst – Capital Markets & AI
Location: New York / New Jersey – Onsite Experience: 6–10 years Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong Capital Markets domain knowledge and exposure to AI/GenAI initiatives to work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and leadership.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Capital Markets processes and products, combined with the ability to translate business requirements into clear, actionable technology solutions. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills are critical for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Work
closely with business stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, pain points, and technology needs.
- Analyze
and document business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Leverage
strong Capital Markets domain knowledge to understand and analyze business processes and workflows.
- Collaborate
with product, engineering, data, and AI teams to translate business requirements into effective technology solutions.
- Identify
opportunities where AI, GenAI, automation, analytics, and intelligent workflows can improve business processes.
- Participate
in AI/GenAI initiatives including requirement discovery, use-case identification, solution definition, and business validation.
- Facilitate
workshops, stakeholder discussions, requirement-gathering sessions, and solution walkthroughs.
- Act as
a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage
stakeholder expectations and ensure timely communication of requirements, decisions, risks, dependencies, and project updates.
- Support
prioritization of requirements based on business value, feasibility, and impact.
- Work
with delivery and technology teams during development, testing, UAT, and implementation.
- Support
preparation of business cases, presentations, status updates, and management-level communication.
- Identify
gaps and opportunities for process improvement and digital transformation.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6–10
years of experience as a Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst / Product Business Analyst.
- Strong
hands-on experience in Capital Markets / Financial Services.
- Good
understanding of Capital Markets products, processes, workflows, and business operations.
- Experience
working with AI, GenAI, Machine Learning, intelligent automation, or AI-enabled applications.
- Ability
to identify practical AI use cases and translate business problems into AI/technology requirements.
- Strong
experience in requirements gathering, process analysis, BRD/FRD, user stories, process mapping, and UAT.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, including
working with senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Ability
to conduct workshops and independently drive discussions with clients.
- Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability
to work effectively across business, product, technology, data, and AI teams.
- Comfortable
working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience
working with investment banking, asset management, wealth management, trading, securities, or related Capital Markets functions.
- Experience
with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, AI agents, or AI-powered enterprise applications.
- Experience
in digital transformation or modernization initiatives within Financial Services.
- Knowledge
of Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience
working with distributed/onshore-offshore teams.
- Prior
experience in a client-facing consulting environment is highly preferred.
