Unum Ireland - 2027 IT Internship Program

Infrastructure Network Engineer Intern Summary – Infrastructure Network Team

Supports the network engineering team with day-to-day operational tasks, documentation, basic troubleshooting, and project support while building hands- on knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure. Works with team members to learn core networking concepts, assist with routine activities, and contribute to reliable, secure, and well-documented services.

Required:

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching 
  • Interest in learning enterprise network infrastructure, tools, and support processes 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to document work clearly and accurately 
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow established procedures 
  • Ability to manage time, stay organized, and handle multiple tasks 
  • Willingness to learn from feedback and work collaboratively with team members 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and basic technical documentation 
  • Coursework, lab experience, or certifications in networking or IT would be beneficial
