Overview
This role sits on an Agile delivery team and is responsible for gathering, documenting, and testing clear, unambiguous business requirements. The System Analyst translates business needs and system functionality for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, project team members, and the broader user community. This position also serves as Scrum Master for the team — running ceremonies and coordinating with the Project Manager on delivery artifacts and documentation — while working closely with the project team and stakeholders to examine existing and future-state business processes, data, and systems. This analysis guides requirements gathering and drives execution of test cases against desired system functionality.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Develop process flows, use cases, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
- Create test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on requirements.
- Execute functional, integration, and regression testing; log and track defects.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business partners.
- Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and quality standards.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Assist with system demonstrations, training materials, and production validation.
- Ensure documentation remains accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serve as Scrum Master for the team, facilitating backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Business Analyst experience – 3 years
- Quality Assurance Analyst experience – 3 years
- Azure DevOps or similar tool (e.g., JIRA) – comfortable creating epics/features/user stories and moving cards through the project lifecycle – 3 years
- Understanding of BA, QA, and DEV roles/responsibilities – 3 years
- Experience with as-is/to-be process documentation and content creation – 3 years
- Experience creating product roadmaps – 3 years
- Familiarity with project management methodologies / Agile – 3 years
- Adept with BA/QA tools (e.g., Figma, Visio) – 3 years
