Full description

We’re looking for an experienced HRIS Project Manager to lead complex HR, payroll and people-technology transformation programmes across our client base. This role goes beyond traditional project delivery. You’ll act as a consultative delivery partner, accountable not only for timelines, scope and governance, but also for commercial performance, stakeholder engagement, successful adoption and ensuring clients realise the full value of their transformation investment. Working within our Client Transformation team, you’ll partner with senior client stakeholders, HR and Payroll leaders, technology vendors, system integrators, internal consultants and Silver Cloud leadership to drive successful outcomes. Depending on the engagement, you may join at the beginning of a client’s transformation journey or step into an established programme that needs additional structure, leadership or recovery support. You’ll be comfortable creating clarity where there is ambiguity, constructively challenging decisions and keeping complex programmes moving forward. This is an opportunity to shape the future of our clients while helping Silver Cloud continuously evolve its transformation methodologies, delivery standards and client proposition.

Our Client Transformation team works across the HR and payroll technology market, supporting organisations with digital reviews, system selection, project readiness, implementation, data, testing, change management and wider transformation delivery. We work from the client’s side, bringing structure, experience and independent advice to help organisations make confident decisions and achieve meaningful, lasting outcomes. What we’re looking for• Proven experience leading complex projects or programmes across the full delivery lifecycle

  • Strong experience within HR, payroll, HRIS or people-technology transformation
  • Experience managing HRIS, payroll or enterprise-system implementations from the client side, consultancy side or within professional services
  • Good understanding of the dependencies between business process, data, integrations, testing, change, training and operational readiness
  • Experience working with technology vendors, system integrators, internal specialists and senior business stakeholders
  • Strong project governance, planning, change-control, risk-management and reporting capability
  • Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, forecasts, scope and project financials
  • Confidence facilitating steering committees and communicating programme health to executive stakeholders
  • Ability to challenge constructively, resolve ambiguity and maintain progress through complex delivery situations
  • Experience leading remote, cross-functional and multi-party teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, clients or workstreams while maintaining delivery quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative, low-ego leadership style and willingness to share knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail with a practical, outcome-focused approach
  • Confidence working independently within a remote-first consultancy environment
  • Flexibility to travel to client and team locations across the UK when required

Desirable experience• Experience with one or more HRIS, HCM, payroll or workforce-management platforms

  • Experience delivering global or multi-country HR and payroll programmes
  • Exposure to HRIS selection, project readiness, digital review or programme-recovery engagements
  • Experience supporting presales, statement-of-work development, solution scoping or account growth
  • Familiarity with tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project or ClickUp
  • PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, APM or equivalent project-management certification
  • Experience coaching other project managers, consultants or workstream leads

Particularly relevant backgrounds might include• HRIS or HCM Project Manager

  • HR and Payroll Transformation Project Manager

  • Create and maintain integrated project plans covering client, vendor, system-integrator and Silver Cloud activities
  • Own project governance, including RAID logs, actions, decisions, dependencies, change control, status reporting and milestone management
  • Manage scope, budget, resources, timelines and quality throughout delivery
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, escalation routes and decision-making processes
  • Facilitate project boards, steering committees, governance forums and executive updates
  • Identify risks and issues early, establish appropriate mitigation and drive actions through to resolution
  • Support programme recovery where delivery has moved off track or requires additional structure

Client leadership and advisory• Build trusted relationships with senior HR, Payroll, Finance, IT and business stakeholders

  • Understand the client’s wider business and transformation objectives and ensure programme activity remains aligned to them
  • Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, decision forums and stakeholder-engagement activities
  • Translate complex project information into clear, practical updates for technical and non-technical audiences

  • Maintain a strong focus on the client experience throughout the engagement

HRIS and transformation delivery• Coordinate activity across HRIS vendors, implementation partners, client workstream leads and Silver Cloud specialists

  • Ensure business requirements, design decisions, dependencies and acceptance criteria are understood and documented
  • Oversee readiness across key workstreams such as data migration, integrations, testing, parallel payroll, training, communications and go-live

  • Ensure handover, operational readiness and transition to business as usual are planned and completed effectively

Commercial ownership• Maintain accurate forecasts and provide clear visibility of project health

  • Monitor project financials, resource consumption, milestones and delivery against the agreed scope
  • Identify commercial risks early and manage them in partnership with Silver Cloud leadership
  • Apply robust change control where requirements or delivery needs move beyond the agreed engagement

  • Contribute to account growth through trusted relationships, high-quality delivery and a strong understanding of client needs
  • Support proposals, scoping and mobilisation for new or expanded engagements when required

Team and programme leadership• Coordinate consultants, technical specialists, client teams, vendors and third-party partners across multiple workstreams

  • Manage dependencies, competing priorities and critical delivery milestones
  • Create a collaborative, accountable and high-performing programme environment
  • Provide clear direction while enabling specialists to take ownership within their areas of expertise
  • Support coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing across the Client Transformation team
  • Promote open communication, early escalation and collective problem-solving

Change and continuous improvement• Support organisational-change and adoption activities throughout the programme

  • Ensure solutions are embedded successfully into client operations rather than treating go-live as the end of the transformation
  • Establish meaningful measures of readiness, adoption and transformation success
  • Facilitate lessons-learned activity and translate findings into practical improvements
  • Contribute to Silver Cloud’s project-management methodologies, templates, tools and quality standards
  • Share knowledge and reusable approaches that improve consistency across future engagements
