Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Application Security Engineer to join our team to lead our application development security program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security engineering and will be responsible for managing vulnerability reports from multiple tools, working closely with the development teams to ensure proper prioritization and remediation, as well as contributing to security training and compliance efforts. This position will report to the Head of Application Security for our company.
Key Responsibilities
Vulnerability Management:
- Monitor and manage vulnerability reports from various security tools and platforms.
- Analyze and triage vulnerabilities to assess risk and impact.
- Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
- Track and report on the status of vulnerability remediation efforts.
Security Program Development:
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and guidelines for application development.
- Ensure applications are designed and implemented in accordance with security best practices.
- Conduct security assessments and assist in code reviews to identify potential security weaknesses.
Training and Compliance:
- Manage security training and awareness programs for development teams and other stakeholders.
- Maintain knowledge of current security trends, tools, and techniques.
- Work with IT team to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of security documentation.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with development teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address security concerns and promote security awareness.
- Provide guidance and support to development teams on security-related issues.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in application security or a related role.
- Strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies.
- Experience with vulnerability management tools and techniques.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
- Knowledge of web application security frameworks and standards (e.g., OWASP, NIST).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications:
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a plus.
Compensation/Benefits Information
Accuris states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is 318,000 PLN to 393,000 PLN annually (approximately 26,500 PLN to 32,750 PLN gross per month). Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan as well as comprehensive benefits.
