We are looking forward to meeting Embedded C Software Engineers, to develop software for Garmin Avionics, including performing software design, development, and testing for OEM and retrofit avionics products.

Currently, we have openings for the following projects:

Displays: This team develops the next generation of Garmin Integrated Flight Deck (GIFD) solutions. You will design, implement, and validate new features for advanced touchscreen flight displays, delivering intuitive and reliable functionality for Primary Flight Display (PFD), Multifunction Flight Display (MFD), Engine Indication Systems (EIS), and integrated cockpit applications.

Team X: This team develops AXIS to add advanced capabilities while also greatly simplifying the panel installation. Next-generation flight displays. Optional built-in IFR navigation and communication functions put essential tools for flight into a single system. AXIS is available for installation in a variety of aircraft types, including experimental, light sport aircraft and certified Class I/II piston-powered aircraft.

We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require 5 days in the office each week. 

  • Strong programming skills and knowledge of C
  • Experience in low-level programming
  • Demonstrates mastery of relevant software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, simulators, static code analysis)
  • Collaborate closely with product teams to integrate new features and technology into product platforms
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
  • BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math or Physics or another relevant engineering/technical field

Would be a plus

  • Experience in developing safety-critical software following DO-178B standard
  • Knowledge of Python 3, C++
  • A research oriented mindset
