Full description
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, migration and ongoing operation of our global enterprise network. You will consolidate a multi-vendor environment onto a unified Fortinet platform, take full ownership of network infrastructure across nine international sites and two data centers, and shape how the network is run for years to come. This is a rare chance to build rather than inherit.
Key Responsabilities.
- Lead the design and implementation of the target-state network architecture, including SD-WAN, next-generation firewall, and wireless, in partnership with a Fortinet-certified systems integrator.
- Own the global WAN, including carrier circuit strategy, provisioning, performance and contract transitions across North America, Mexico, the UK and Asia-Pacific.
- Establish and maintain firewall policy, segmentation standards, change control and configuration documentation for all sites and data centers.
- Lead site migrations, serving as the on-site technical lead for Monterrey and remote lead for international locations.
- Support the separation of our colocation data centers and the subsequent migration of workloads to AWS, including hybrid connectivity to Azure and AWS.
- Define network operations and monitoring requirements for our managed service provider, participate in vendor selection, and oversee the provider’s network services against agreed service levels.
- Partner with the Security team on network vulnerability remediation, firmware lifecycle management and secure configuration baselines.
- Develop and test network disaster recovery procedures as part of the company’s business resiliency program.
- Produce clear architecture diagrams, standards and status reporting for technical and executive audiences.
WHO YOU ARE (Qualifications).
Required:
- 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience, including at least 3 years as the senior or lead engineer for a multi-site international WAN.
- Expert-level Fortinet experience: FortiGate firewalls, FortiOS SD-WAN, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer, and FortiAP wireless. Fortinet NSE 4 or higher.
- Strong Cisco Catalyst switching skills (IOS and IOS-XE): VLANs, spanning tree, stacking, 802.1X, TACACS+ and QoS.
- Solid routing and WAN expertise: BGP, OSPF, IPsec VPN, NAT and carrier circuit management.
- Demonstrated experience managing network vendors, carriers and managed service providers.
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish.
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Monterrey metropolitan area.
Preferred:
- Experience migrating from Aruba (EdgeConnect or Aruba wireless) to Fortinet.
- Cloud networking experience in Azure (VNets, VPN Gateway, NSGs) and AWS (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect).
- Experience with network transitions during a divestiture, carve-out or provider changeover.
- Colocation data center experience.
- CCNP Enterprise or equivalent.
What Sets You Apart.
- You deliver against fixed dates and manage your own priorities without close supervision.
- You communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical leadership.
- You are comfortable operating as the senior network authority in the organization and holding external partners to a high standard.
