Benefits
Full description
About CitygreenCitygreen designs and supplies engineered systems that let trees and stormwater infrastructure thrive in hard urban spaces. Our products, including StrataVault and StrataCell, are specified by landscape architects, engineers and municipalities across North America and Australia. Our North American business is growing, and we need someone on the ground who makes sure our systems get built the way they were designed.
The roleAs Project Delivery Manager for the West Coast, you'll be our technical and construction lead for North America. You'll review installations against approved drawings, own construction quality review in BuildPass, brief contractors before they start, and back our sales team on every technical question from specifiers.
You'll be the most senior technical person in your time zone, with our head office in Sydney. That means making sound calls on your own and knowing which ones to escalate.
We're also exploring installation services in the US. This role is designed to grow into full project delivery (running installed projects, supervising subcontractors, owning programme and margin) if and when we take that step. We're looking for someone who has done that work before and would want to help build it here.
What you'll doConstruction review and quality
- Review installations against approved drawings: levels, dimensions, soil volumes, compaction, layering and connections
- Own BuildPass review for all North American projects. Approve or reject evidence, raise non-conformances, and verify that corrective action holds
- Keep the photographic and inspection record complete enough to defend a warranty claim
Pre-construction
- Run pre-installation meetings with contractors covering sequencing, materials, tolerances and inspection points
- Brief and, where needed, certify contractors who are new to Citygreen systems
- Check drawing packages are buildable before they reach site, and send them back to our Design Studio when they aren't
Coordination
- Coordinate across landscape architects, civil and stormwater engineers, utilities, city public works and urban forestry departments, so conflicts are found on paper rather than in the trench
- Brief our design team and check its output against site reality
Technical support to sales
- Answer technical questions from our sales team at design and specification stage
- Join client and specifier meetings where technical credibility decides the outcome
- Build relationships with specifiers and contractors in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle
What you'll bring• 5+ years in the landscape industry, with training in landscape architecture, landscape technology or landscape construction. Civil construction backgrounds are also considered
- Hands-on site supervision of landscape installation, as a site superintendent, construction manager or contractor-side project manager. A landscape architect with substantial construction administration and site experience is equally welcome
- Practical knowledge of excavation, compaction, drainage and soil profiles, and how pavement, utilities and tree soil interact below ground. We'll test this at interview
- A track record of directing landscape or civil crews and holding them to scope and quality
- Confidence reading and marking up landscape and civil plan sets: levels, sections, soil and drainage details, utilities and pavement build-ups
- Accountability for schedule, change orders or margin on at least one real project
- Clear written communication. Credible with landscape architects and engineers, firm with contractors
- Authorization to work in the United States
- A current driver's license, willingness to travel regularly along the West Coast, and occasionally to Canada and Australia
Nice to have• Experience with soil cells, structural soil or similar systems (Silva Cell, StrataVault or equivalent)
- Urban tree planting and establishment: tree pits, structural soils, irrigation
- A landscape contractor or landscape architecture network in LA, San Diego, San Francisco or Seattle
- Knowledge of California contracting, licensing and municipal processes, or Caltrans standards
- Construction QA platforms such as BuildPass or Procore
- AutoCAD or Civil 3D viewing and markup
- HubSpot or NetSuite experience
How we workWe hire for three things as much as for experience.
Hungry. You see the next problem on a project and go after it without being asked.
Humble. You give credit to the installers and the design team, take a drawing correction without defensiveness, and say early when something is going wrong.
Smart with people. You speak the specifier's language at design stage and the installer's language on site. You can tell a contractor their work isn't acceptable and keep the relationship.
