Java / Angular Software Engineer – Pulse

We’re looking for two talented Software Engineers to join our Pulse team and help build and evolve modern, scalable technology used within our solutions.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working across the technology stack and wants to have a real impact on the products they build. You’ll work primarily with Angular, TypeScript and Java, developing web applications and RESTful APIs within an AWS cloud environment.

The opportunityAs a Software Engineer within Pulse, you’ll be involved throughout the development lifecycle – from designing and developing new functionality through to automated testing, deployment and ongoing improvement.

You’ll build and maintain modern web applications using Angular and TypeScript, while using Java to develop the services and APIs that sit behind them. You'll design and build RESTful architectures following industry best practice, ensuring our solutions are scalable, maintainable and straightforward to integrate.

Quality will be an important part of how you work. You'll design and develop automated tests and test harnesses, helping us identify issues earlier and giving the team greater confidence as our products continue to evolve.

You'll also work within AWS cloud environments and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated build and testing processes, helping us continually improve how quickly and reliably we can deliver software.

What you’ll bringWe're looking for engineers who combine strong development fundamentals with the curiosity and problem-solving skills to work across different areas of a technology platform.

You'll bring:

• Strong hands-on experience with Angular, TypeScript and Java, including developing and maintaining web applications.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and architectures using recognised industry best practices.
• Experience creating automated tests and test harnesses, with a strong focus on software quality.
• Practical experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines and automated build and testing processes.
• A good understanding of GitHub and source-control best practices, alongside strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
