Position Overview

ByteBridge Technology Japan is seeking a qualified Supervising Engineer (監理技術者 – Electrical Construction / 電気工事) to support our growing Data Center construction and fit-out business in Japan.

The successful candidate will serve as a qualified technical professional under Japan’s Construction Business Act (建設業法) and provide technical supervision for large-scale electrical construction projects, primarily within data centers.

This position is suitable for an experienced electrical construction professional who has worked on large commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as 監理技術者 (Supervising Engineer) for electrical construction projects in accordance with the Construction Business Act.

• Provide technical supervision and management of electrical installation works at data center construction sites.

• Supervise subcontractors and coordinate construction activities with customers, general contractors, vendors, and other trades.

• Review construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and work plans.

• Monitor construction quality, safety, schedule, and compliance with project requirements.

• Manage and coordinate electrical works, including:

• Power distribution

• UPS and electrical infrastructure

• Busway / Busduct

• Power cabling and containment

• Equipment power connections

• Grounding / bonding

• Electrical installations associated with data center racks and infrastructure

• Support inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

• Maintain necessary construction and technical documentation.

• Support the Project Manager and engineering team in resolving technical and site issues.

• Ensure work is performed in accordance with Japanese laws, regulations, applicable standards, and customer requirements.

Safety Management

• Monitor and promote safe working practices for electrical construction activities.

• Review and support risk assessments, method statements, and site safety procedures.

• Participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, KY activities, and site safety inspections.

• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions with Project Managers, Site Managers, HSE/Safety personnel, and subcontractors.

• Ensure subcontractors comply with project safety requirements and applicable Japanese laws and regulations.

• Support safe work planning for high-risk activities, including electrical work, energized systems, lifting operations, work at height, and other applicable construction activities.

• Report and escalate safety incidents, near misses, and significant safety concerns in accordance with project procedures.

• Promote a strong safety culture across project and subcontractor teams.

Mandatory Qualifications

Candidates must be legally qualified to serve as a 監理技術者 for Electrical Construction (電気工事) in Japan.

One of the following or an equivalent recognized qualification is required:

• 1級電気工事施工管理技士

• 技術士 with an applicable qualification recognized for Electrical Construction

• Other qualifications officially recognized as meeting the requirements for 監理技術者（電気工事）

Candidates must already possess or be eligible to obtain:

• 監理技術者資格者証

• 監理技術者講習修了証

Experience

• Experience in electrical construction projects in Japan.

• Experience supervising subcontractors and construction activities.

• Understanding of Japanese construction practices and the Construction Business Act.

• Experience with large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or similar electrical construction projects.

• Data center construction experience is highly preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with hyperscale or large-scale data center projects.

• Knowledge of UPS, power distribution, busway, generators, electrical panels, and mission-critical infrastructure.

• Experience with testing and commissioning.

• Ability to review electrical drawings and construction documentation.

• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors.

• Experience with construction site safety management and risk assessment.

• Basic English communication skills are preferred but not mandatory.

Working Location

Osaka / Kansai Region

The role will primarily support data center and mission-critical construction projects in Osaka and the wider Kansai area. Project-site attendance and domestic travel may be required depending on project requirements.

ByteBridge is expanding its Data Center construction and infrastructure business in Japan. データセンター経験者を歓迎しますが、大型商業施設、工場、産業設備、ミッションクリティカル施設など、大規模な電気設備工事の経験をお持ちの方も対象としています。

主な業務内容

• 建設業法に基づく電気工事の監理技術者としての業務

• データセンターにおける電気設備工事の技術管理・監督

• 協力会社・下請業者の施工管理および調整

• 顧客、元請会社、ベンダー、他工種との工事調整

• 施工図、仕様書、施工要領書、施工計画書等の確認

• 工程、品質、安全および施工状況の管理

• 以下を含む電気設備工事の管理・調整：

• 受配電設備

• UPSおよび関連電源設備

• Busway / Busduct

• 電源ケーブルおよびケーブル支持設備

• 各種設備への電源接続

• 接地・ボンディング

• データセンターラックおよび関連設備の電気工事

• 検査、試験、Commissioningおよび引渡し対応

• 工事・技術関連書類の作成および管理

• Project Managerおよびエンジニアと連携した現場課題・技術課題への対応

• 日本国内の法令、関連規格、顧客仕様に基づく施工管理

安全管理

• 電気設備工事における安全な作業環境・施工方法の確認および推進

• リスクアセスメント、施工要領書および現場安全手順の確認・支援

• Toolbox Meeting、KY活動、安全会議、現場安全パトロールへの参加

• 危険箇所・不安全行動の確認、およびProject Manager、現場責任者、安全管理担当者、協力会社と連携した是正対応

• 協力会社・下請業者によるプロジェクト安全基準および日本国内の関連法令の遵守確認

• 電気工事、活線・電源設備、揚重作業、高所作業等のリスクの高い作業における安全施工計画の確認・支援

• 事故、ヒヤリハット、重大な安全上の懸念事項の報告およびエスカレーション

• プロジェクトおよび協力会社を含めた安全文化の向上

必須資格

電気工事における監理技術者として配置可能な方

以下のいずれか、または電気工事の監理技術者要件を満たす資格を有する方：

• 1級電気工事施工管理技士

• 電気工事の監理技術者要件を満たす技術士

• その他、電気工事における監理技術者として認められる資格

また、以下を保有している方、または取得可能な方：

• 監理技術者資格者証

• 監理技術者講習修了証

必要な経験

• 日本国内における電気設備工事の実務経験

• 協力会社・下請業者の施工管理経験

• 日本の建設工事および建設業法に関する基本的な理解

• 大型商業施設、工場、産業設備、ミッションクリティカル施設等の電気工事経験

データセンター工事経験者は特に歓迎しますが、必須ではありません。
