As Assistant Project Manager in the Houston market, you will assist and oversee operations for large-scale multifamily developments, ensuring efficiency and excellence from initiation to completion. Working with a skilled project team and subcontractors, you will strategize, manage, and monitor the schedule, budget, and quality control progress to meet defined objectives within budgetary and time constraints. Your primary aim will be driving projects to success by maintaining high standards of on-time delivery, safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with managing, supervising, coordinating, and monitoring the planning, design, and construction of new ground-up multifamily construction projects using project management best practices working with internal and external customers.
  • Assist the Project Managers with managing and generating all project documents to include Request for Bids (RFBs), bid comparison, budget review analysis, RFIs, submittals, construction agreements, scope modifications, change orders, invoicing, through project closeout.
  • Assist with the development and management of the project scope, schedule, and budget from inception, design, and construction along with systematic regular reporting utilizing the department's technology applications and our team visual management tools.
  • Assist with managing, supervising, coordinating, and monitoring the planning, design, and construction of new ground-up multifamily construction projects, including coordination with design consultants, jurisdictions, utilities, procurement, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the Project Managers and project teams as required to balance the project load per region.
  • Assist in scheduling and participating in project site walks and all punch list, turnover and closeout activities.

  • Demonstrated ability in stewardship acting in the role of an Owner's Representative.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of comprehensive construction administrative/management experience in the construction industry.
  • Multifamily, financial, and commercial construction experience is preferred.
  • PMP Certification or other industry related certifications a plus but not required.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software (MS Project or equivalent). Bluebeam software experience is preferred. Procore and other construction related software experience is a plus but not required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English in a manner sufficient to carry out duties.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screen required.
