Position Summary

The Product Manager will lead product planning, development, and delivery for the Public Engagement Unit Systems project. This position will manage large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment, define project expectations and timelines, translate user needs into clear development stories, and prioritize work across multiple initiatives.

The position will work closely with technical, operational, and community-facing teams to develop and maintain a product roadmap, use data to prioritize product decisions, validate completed work, and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. The Product Manager will use Agile project management frameworks and may oversee products or platforms such as Salesforce and iOS or Android applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale product and technology projects in fast-paced environments, ensuring projects remain aligned with established goals and priorities.
  • Define project expectations, milestones, priorities, and timelines for deliverables in collaboration with technical and operational teams.
  • Listen to users and stakeholders to understand needs, challenges, and opportunities, and translate those needs into clear development stories and product requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and prioritize a product roadmap based on organizational goals, user needs, available resources, and data.
  • Apply Agile project management frameworks to plan, coordinate, monitor, and deliver product and project work.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects, tasks, and competing requirements efficiently while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, operations staff, and other stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Translate technical information, product requirements, and development decisions into clear language for non-technical audiences.
  • Use data and analytical findings to inform roadmap priorities, assess product performance, and validate completed projects and deliverables.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, issues, and opportunities and work collaboratively to develop practical solutions.
  • Manage or support products and platforms such as Salesforce and iOS or Android applications, as applicable to project needs.
  • Communicate project status, priorities, timelines, decisions, and deliverables clearly to internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of four (4) years of experience with the following skill sets:

  • Experience project managing large-scale projects in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience defining project expectations and timelines for deliverables.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to translate user needs into development stories.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience using Agile project management frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to translate technical information into language that can be understood by non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use data to prioritize a roadmap and validate completed projects.
  • Experience in government, or in community, issue, labor, or political organizing.
  • Experience product managing Salesforce, iOS, or Android applications.

Minimum Experience

Position 115 – Product Manager: Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience, with an emphasis on large-scale project management, Agile product management, translating user needs into development stories, roadmap prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration.
