Our software and scientists incorporate modern advances in scientific understanding, drug development experience, data analysis, and AI resulting in significant opportunities to decrease the cost and increase the probability of success for new drug approval and commercialization.

About Chemaxon

Chemaxon is an industry-leading cheminformatics software company helping early-stage drug discovery and chemistry research for more than 20 years. Our clients are top pharmaceutical companies, innovative biotech startups, and leading academic institutions.

We are agile, innovative and friendly, offering compelling opportunities for frequent collaboration and cross-training with teammates and stakeholders. We have recently been acquired by Certara, a US-based model-informed drug development services and software company. We are in an exciting time of organizational and business growth, so now is the perfect time to join our team!

About the roleWe are mainly looking for a seasoned scientist eager to transition into UX research, ready to move from doing science to studying how scientists use the tools built for them. To make that leap possible, we offer a structured onboarding program where you'll learn everything you need for the transition. Our hiring priority for this role is domain expertise plus curiosity and coachability, not existing UX credentials. If you're already an experienced UX researcher with an interest in complex, data-heavy B2B tools, we'd also love to hear from you. We work daily with scientists, which is challenging and super exciting at the same time.

About the teamOur UX team engages with complex and inspiring projects with a strong mix of expertise. Of our eight team members, some focus exclusively on UX research while others focus on UX design. Our team spends most of its time in cross-functional product teams, but we also work on horizontal UX operational tasks. We also use AI tools as part of our everyday workflow for almost every step of UX research, from creating custom research tools and product prototypes, to research data analysis and synthesis, to pattern-finding across studies. We use AI to speed up the busywork, so more time goes toward talking to scientists and generating insight.

About the productThe product you will work on is a chemical drawing tool. It's exciting, complex, and B2B. It may sound cliché, but there needs to be chemistry between us and our users. This doesn't mean that you must comprehend this science to the level of a scientist, but you should be willing to learn about it. The dynamic team working on this is quite mature from a UX perspective. Research is an integral part of their operation, so you can expect that your work will have a significant impact here.
