What You'll Be Doing:

As a Java Software Engineer at Reach-U, you will play a crucial role in building resilient backend architecture, designing reliable APIs, and optimizing data-driven software solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating production-grade Java code that customers can trust — ensuring high performance, efficiency, and proactive error handling.
  • Continuously improving backend systems and data workflows while proposing architectural enhancements to optimize stability.
  • Assisting with ad hoc software and data analyses to solve complex engineering and business challenges.
  • Acting as a reliable technical contributor across the entire software development lifecycle.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Solid hands-on software development experience with Java and a passion for clean software design.
  • A problem-solving mindset focused on delivering practical business value through well-structured solutions.
  • A detail-oriented approach with a keen eye for quality while keeping the big-picture architecture in mind.
  • Commitment to high standards in software architecture, data security, and privacy.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch), and columnar databases (Cassandra, BigTable).
  • Hands-on experience with applications and data in public cloud environments.
  • Excellent English and Estonian proficiency (written & spoken).

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience in data manipulation workflows using Airflow, Python (Pandas), Spark, or Bash.
  • A talent for presenting complex findings or technical topics in an easy-to-understand form for non-technical audiences.
  • Prior experience working in industries outside of ICT.
  • Interesting portfolio cases or past projects you can proudly showcase.
