About the Role: We are looking for a Senior / Lead Data Engineer to take a key role in a BI/DWH modernization initiative.
As the first Lead Data Engineer in the project, you will be expected to contribute from the early discovery and analysis phase through to the first implementation. The ideal candidate is more than a hands-on developer—you have strong experience understanding complex data warehouse environments, analyzing dependencies, and shaping the modernization of legacy data flows and platforms.
The assignment combines SQL Server/SSIS legacy environments, data modelling, ETL analysis, and practical modernization toward modern cloud-based data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to the discovery and analysis of existing DWH/BI environments.
- Analyze complex ETL flows, stored procedures, views, tables, dependencies, and data lineage.
- Assess legacy SQL Server and SSIS solutions and identify opportunities for modernization.
- Contribute to the target architecture and modernization roadmap.
- Design and implement modern data solutions using cloud-based data platforms.
- Perform hands-on data engineering and development alongside architectural and analytical work.
- Develop and maintain robust data models, data pipelines, and data marts.
- Document technical solutions, data flows, mappings, dependencies, and design decisions.
- Collaborate closely with Architects, BI Developers, Business Experts, and other Data Engineers.
- Establish structured development practices, including Git and CI/CD.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to more junior Data Engineers.
Requirements:
- Several years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer.
- Very strong SQL and T-SQL skills, particularly in SQL Server environments.
- Proven experience with SSIS and traditional Microsoft DWH/BI environments.
- Strong experience analyzing ETL flows, stored procedures, views, tables, dependencies, and data lineage.
- Documented experience with DWH modernization or migration from legacy platforms to cloud-based data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of:
- Microsoft Fabric
- Azure Synapse
- Databricks
- Snowflake
- Strong understanding of data modelling concepts, including:
- Kimball
- Data Vault
- Star schema
- Data marts
- Experience with CI/CD, Git, and structured software development practices.
- Ability to document technical solutions, data flows, mappings, and design decisions clearly.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Architects, BI Developers, Business Experts, and Data Engineers.
- Ability to contribute across both analysis/discovery and hands-on implementation.
- Experience leading or mentoring junior Data Engineers.
What We Offer:
- A dynamic and innovative workplace driving advancements in cutting-edge robotic technologies
- The opportunity to collaborate with talented cross-functional teams on meaningful and impactful projects
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package
- A supportive culture that fosters continuous learning, growth, and professional development
- Flexible hybrid working model for an optimal work-life balance
- 25 days of annual leave to recharge and relax
- An annual wellness allowance of 3,500 SEK to support your health and wellbeing
