Senior Java Developer – Public Sector Solutions

Would you like to build and modernise business-critical solutions that support essential public services? We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join Twoday, with your first assignment being for a major public-sector customer in Copenhagen.

Your role

You will join an established development environment and contribute hands-on throughout the development lifecycle. The role requires both strong Java expertise and an ability to discuss solutions, clarify requirements and collaborate closely with colleagues and stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining business-critical Java applications
  • Designing and implementing services, integrations and REST APIs
  • Modernising existing solutions while maintaining stability stability and quality
  • Writing automated tests and contributing to CI/CD
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues
  • Participating in technical discussions discussions and solution design
  • Sharing knowledge and reviewing code with other developers

About you

We expect you to have:

  • Several years of professional Java development experience
  • Hands-on experience with Java and Spring or Spring Boot
  • Experience with integrations and REST-based services
  • Experience maintaining or modernising existing enterprise applications
  • A strong understanding of automated testing and software quality
  • Experience with CI/CD and modern development workflows
  • The ability to work independently while contributing actively to the team
  • Strong communication skills and an interest in understanding the business domain
  • Professional fluency in Danish and English

Experience from large, regulated or public-sector organisations would be an advantage.
