About JUNI

JUNI is building the leading startup ecosystem for science-based spin-offs in Berlin and Brandenburg. We connect universities, startups, corporates, investors and policymakers, and create the spaces, programmes and partnerships that translate research into successful companies.

Behind that work sit the tools our teams use every day: CRM, events, newsletter, help desk, community, reporting, and new tools for our ecosystem and matching work. Most of it runs on low-code and no-code tools, and every topic has a different owner somewhere in JUNI.

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager who builds. You take a request from a colleague, work out what they actually need, and in most cases build it yourself. When something is bigger, you involve internal and external developers and steer the work. You report to our Head of Product & Tech, who sets strategy and architecture. The Challenge

Your mission

Build and try things out

  • Building automations, workflows and small tools yourself, mostly with low-code and no-code tools
  • Owning how our tools work for the teams that use them: CRM, help desk, events, newsletter, community
  • Trying out new tools and AI features for our teams' daily work, keeping what works and dropping what doesn't
  • Documenting what you build so colleagues can use it without you

Product and programme management

  • Running cross-team projects from first request to rollout: scope, timeline, dependencies, budget
  • Owning the backlog and deciding what comes next across our tools: priorities, scope, and what we deliberately don't do
  • Turning requests from colleagues into clear requirements and checking the result against them
  • Taking on work only where there is a named owner and a concrete use case, and saying no where there isn't

Work with others

  • The first contact on tools and processes for colleagues in Programmes, Partnerships, Communications and Operations
  • Working closely with our internal developers and our IT & operations specialist
  • Steering internal and external developers in their day-to-day work
  • Selecting and briefing external developers for project work, and checking quality throughout

Your profile

  • You have built things yourself: as an engineer who moved into product, or as a product person who started building
  • 4+ years as Product Manager or Product Owner, ideally for internal tools or platforms
  • At home in low-code, automation and AI tools, familiar with Claude and Claude Code, and you enjoy trying out new ones
  • You understand APIs, read API documentation and write SQL as part of your daily work
  • You understand what you build: the requirements behind it, how it fits our tools and data, and where it can break, even when an AI tool wrote it
  • You work out what people need, not only what they ask for
  • You flag problems early and directly instead of working around them
  • Interest in innovation, startups and the science environment
  • Fluent German and English

We offer

  • A role with real ownership: the day-to-day product decisions across our tools are yours
  • Direct influence on how a young startup factory works and scales
  • A motivated team with a hands-on spirit and flat hierarchies
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid working
  • A modern working in the heart of Berlin
  • Compensation that reflects experience and responsibility
