As a Software Engineer for our client's Edgewise platform, you will join a cutting-edge AI-native development group building cloud-edge software, automation, and optimization applications that help the world's tier-1 cellular network operators improve network performance at scale.

About the role:

This is a senior, architecture-oriented role for an engineer who combines strong hands-on Java development with system-level thinking. We're looking for someone who can own the design of complex, scalable systems end to end, treat AI coding agents as a core part of how they build, and act as a technical leader who continuously brings new approaches to the team.

Responsibilities:

• Design system and service architecture for high-performance, scalable, and reliable software, with a solid understanding of the surrounding infrastructure

• Translate complex and often ambiguous requirements into clear, robust, and scalable technical designs

• Own the end-to-end delivery of complex features and modules — from design through implementation and production

• Work in an AI-native engineering environment: effectively leverage modern coding agents and spec-driven development to accelerate high-quality delivery, and adapt or create solutions using AI tools

• Design and implement complex algorithms

• Provide technical leadership — influence technical decisions, mentor peers, and raise the engineering bar across the team

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex software problems

• Continuously explore, evaluate, and introduce new technologies, tools, and engineering practices

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

• 6+ years of experience in software development with Java

• Strong system architecture and design skills — proven experience designing scalable, distributed systems and understanding the underlying infrastructure

• Demonstrated ability to take complex requirements and turn them into well-structured, scalable technical designs

• Strong experience designing and implementing complex algorithms and software architectures

• Experience working with microservices architecture

• Experience developing large-scale data applications and advanced SQL querying

• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI agents) as an integral part of the software development lifecycle, including the ability to adapt and create solutions with them

• Technical leadership potential — initiative, ownership, and the ability to drive technical innovation

• Curiosity and a genuine drive to continuously learn and adopt new technologies and approaches

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Upper-Intermediate English level or higher

Technology stack: Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes, Linux, cloud platforms, SQL/NoSQL databases, Vertica, large-scale data processing, network automation, infrastructure and AI-assisted development workflows

Advantages:

• Prior experience as a Tech Lead, Software Architect, or in a similar senior technical role

• Experience building optimization and analytics modules

• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Experience with infrastructure design and Infrastructure-as-Code

• Familiarity with Clean Code, SOLID, and high software engineering practices

• Experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks

• Experience with NoSQL and relational databases

• Experience working with Vertica or other column-oriented databases

• Experience with Linux and Kubernetes (k8s)

• Experience with Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and designing AI-enabled development workflows — a strong advantage
