About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead multiple Salesforce engineering squads responsible for delivering and operating critical technology capabilities across ANZ.
This is a leadership role for someone who is passionate about building high-performing engineering teams, driving technical excellence, and embedding modern software engineering practices throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
While Salesforce is the core platform, this role extends well beyond platform delivery. You will lead engineers working across complex enterprise integrations, cloud-native services, APIs, event-driven architectures, observability tooling, DevOps pipelines, security controls and operational platforms, helping drive a culture where engineering quality, reliability and continuous improvement are central to how we work.
Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
Role Type: Permanent Role Location: Melbourne or Brisbane Work Hours: Full-Time
What will your day look like?
- Lead and grow multiple engineering squads delivering enterprise-scale Salesforce solutions and associated technology services.
- Provide strong technical leadership across architecture, engineering practices, delivery execution and operational excellence.
- Drive engineering quality through modern SDLC practices including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, release governance and production readiness.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, continuous learning and innovation.
- Partner closely with Product, Architecture, Security and Platform teams to deliver high-quality outcomes at scale.
- Champion software engineering best practices across design, build, deployment and support activities.
- Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, resilient and aligned with enterprise technology standards.
- Drive improvements in platform reliability, performance, operational maturity and engineering productivity.
- Coach and mentor engineers, technical leaders and emerging talent, helping build long-term engineering capability.
- Lead delivery planning, risk management and stakeholder engagement across multiple streams of work.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Significant experience leading engineering teams delivering large-scale Salesforce solutions within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong technical background with a passion for software engineering and engineering craft.
- Experience leading teams operating in modern DevOps environments with mature CI/CD practices.
- Strong understanding of engineering quality practices including test automation, secure software development, observability and platform resilience.
- Experience delivering scalable integration solutions using APIs, event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical engagement.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across both business and technology domains.
- Proven experience building high-performing engineering cultures focused on ownership, quality and continuous improvement.
