This role is primarily based out of our Binghamton, NY home office and offers a hybrid schedule, allowing for a combination of onsite collaboration and remote work during the week.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You may work alongside senior team members and management to collect, organize, validate, and analyze data from various business systems and sources to identify trends and provide forecasts.
  • Write, update, and maintain SQL queries, reports, and Power BI dashboards to track KPIs, quality, timeliness, and compliance for the department and company.
  • Confer with management to translate business requirements into reporting and analytics solutions, and collaborate on the evaluation of alternative data solutions to meet strategic needs.
  • Conduct routine audits of systems and databases to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
  • Prepare, review, and submit Systems Service Requests (SSRs) based on area of assignment, and respond to ad hoc data requests and analysis from stakeholders, balancing turnaround time with accuracy.
  • Validate and reconcile data from multiple source systems to identify discrepancies, gaps, or quality issues, and escalate or resolve as appropriate.
  • Apply basic statistical methods such as trend analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting to interpret data patterns and support informed decision-making.
  • Design and format reports and visualizations for a non-technical audience, tailoring the level of detail to the stakeholder, and document data definitions, report logic, and sources to maintain an accurate data dictionary.
  • Support the automation of recurring or manual reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors, and prepare materials for analysis, dashboards, and recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.
  • Stay current with emerging data analytics tools, techniques, and industry best practices while collaborating with management on department methods, procedures, and procedural documentation regarding automation and virtual record keeping.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 0 to 2 years’ experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a related field required.
  • Experience working with large data sets and reporting tools required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite required.
  • Experience using querying, joins, and aggregations within SQL required.
  • Intermediate Power BI experience required.
  • Ability to work on a team and independently.
  • Ability to adhere to timelines and schedules without sacrificing quality of deliverables.
  • Strong organization skills, and the ability to manage prioritize workload, document and report daily on progress, challenges and successes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with remote team members and internal clients.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and perform work reliably, accurately and thoroughly.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in financial services or corporate administration is preferred.
  • Internship, co-op, academic project, or equivalent involving data analysis preferred.
  • Life Insurance knowledge and experience.
  • Industry recognized certifications.

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business required. A degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field of study is acceptable.

Pay Range: $28.42 to 35.00 hourly
