Summary:
In this role, you will provide architectural leadership across Vizient’s sourcing and contracting technology portfolio, supporting multiple products and engineering teams. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Platform Engineering, Security, CloudOps, Enterprise Architecture, and clients to design secure, scalable, and reliable enterprise solutions. You will define end-to-end architectures and standards, guide engineering teams, evaluate emerging technologies, and advance reusable capabilities aligned with enterprise strategy, security, and governance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end solution and reference architectures spanning enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, cloud platforms, data, identity, and security.
- Translate business capabilities and requirements into secure, scalable, resilient technology architectures and reusable capabilities.
- Provide architectural leadership across multiple sourcing and contracting products and guide engineering teams throughout solution design and delivery.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Platform Engineering, CloudOps, Security, Enterprise Architecture, and clients to align solutions with business and technology objectives.
- Establish and communicate architecture standards, shared services, reusable capabilities, engineering practices, and reference architectures.
- Design solutions that meet enterprise requirements for security, scalability, performance, resiliency, availability, maintainability, observability, privacy, and compliance.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, tools, and libraries and lead proofs of concept and reference implementations to accelerate adoption.
- Mentor engineering teams in solution architecture, application design, cloud technologies, and modern engineering practices.
- Provide architectural leadership and technical governance for solutions delivered by internal teams and implementation partners.
- Drive the long-term technical evolution of sourcing and contracting platforms in alignment with business strategy and enterprise architecture.
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree preferred.
- 7 or more years of relevant experience required.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud-native and distributed systems using Microsoft Azure required; comparable AWS architecture experience with transferable cloud expertise will be considered.
- Strong experience with application architecture, API design, integration patterns, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems required.
- Experience architecting solutions across multiple enterprise applications, products, or engineering teams required.
- Proficiency with development languages and frameworks such as Java, C#, .NET, JavaScript, Angular, or React required.
- Knowledge of enterprise security, governance, identity, authentication, authorization, and modern security architecture principles required.
- Experience with modern engineering practices, including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud integration services required.
- Experience with Strategic Sourcing, procurement, contracting, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), or related enterprise capabilities preferred.
- Relevant cloud architecture or industry certifications preferred.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $236,600.00.
