Job Description

This role can be placed in our offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol or London, however travel to client side might be required based on location.

Your new role

As our new Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading our efforts in supporting clients develop and construct onshore wind farms in the UK and Ireland. You will have a high level of autonomy with varied and challenging tasks working with global subject-matter experts across a range of disciplines. The focus of the role is managing Owners Engineering onshore wind projects whilst also working closely with clients and prospective clients to win more work. This is an opportunity to help shape the role and grow our business in the UK as we expand our range of services to onshore developers in the UK and Ireland. Your office location is preferably in Edinburgh or Glasgow, but other locations will be considered. Some site visits will be required to work closely with clients and ensure thorough understanding of the projects you manage.

 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Project manage onshore wind scopes including Owners Engineering in the UK market (but potential to be involved in wider geographies).
  • Lead client projects covering all aspects of the project’s lifecycle from origination and feasibility, development, construction and repowering.
  • Lead project teams of multidiscipline experts to deliver across varied technical and commercial scopes including civil, electrical, environmental and procurement.
  • Manage tender proposals coordinating technical inputs from experts and more junior consultants and ensuring that it is commercially attractive.
  • Supporting the Head of Business Development with sales activities in the UK onshore market including generating own leads and managing existing clients and building new relationships.

 

About you

  • You bring significant experience in project managing the technical scopes of onshore wind farms including design work, procurement, development and construction management.
  • Have excellent understanding of the key drivers that make a project a technical and commercial success.
  • Have experience in business development, comfortable with engaging clients and prospective clients.
  • You are a self- starter who is comfortable balancing competing demands across projects, clients and business development.
  • You will have a strong ability to build long term relationships with clients.
  • A collaborative working style and a problem-solving mindset
