You will provide day to day Level 2 operations support for JM’s Global Database infrastructure and supports activities that requires database support through the use of database performance analysis tools, such as SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer (DPA).
The role:
As a Database Administrator, you will help drive our goals by:
- Provide implementation and technical support; including planning, installation, ongoing management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and decommissioning, following operational policies and processes that are compliant with JM IT’s standards.
- Analyze, troubleshoot and implement approved and standardized resolutions.
- Monitor environments; respond to service requests, incidents, change requests, and problem management.
- Troubleshoot incidents and problems as reported by users and maintain a secure systems environment.
- Adhere to and execute the approved BCP/DR process.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- Significant operational experience in Microsoft SQL Server
- 3-5 years technical experience, Azure SQL environments, Powershell
VMware, Server, Network, Firewall, Server, Backup (native/Veeam), Restore, DR, Security is highly desirable, excellent communication skills
- Critical Thinking ability in resolving technical issues,
- Working knowledge of planning, installation, on-going management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of IT services and technologies.
- Good understanding of importance of process compliance and standardization.
- Awareness of ITIL principles.
