Job Summary

The Software Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring software quality through manual, automated, and performance testing. This role works closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and customers to validate system functionality, performance, and stability. The engineer executes test strategies, analyze defects, prepare detailed test reports, and provide timely support for customer inquiries regarding system behavior, defects, and performance issues. The role involves hands-on testing, test automation, the use of performance tools, and direct customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Quality Engineering

  • Collaborate with internal teams and on-site stakeholders to understand functional, non-functional, and performance requirements.
  • Review requirements and design documents to ensure clarity, correctness, and testability.
  • Maintain and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases, and testing scope.

Testing, Automation, Performance & Defect Management

  • Perform hands-on manual testing and execute system, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Maintain automated test scripts, frameworks, test environments, and test data.
  • Execute performance and integration testing, analyze results, manage defects, and validate fixes.
  • Work closely with development teams to troubleshoot issues and support root cause analysis.

Reporting & Customer Support

  • Prepare concise test reports covering test results, defect status, and performance metrics.
  • Communicate testing progress, quality status, and release readiness to stakeholders.
  • Provide on-site support during UAT, go-live, and post-deployment, including customer query and production issue support.

What we are looking for:

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in testing and support
  • Practical experience with automation tools (e.g. Robot Framework, Playwright) and performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter)
  • Strong SQL skills for test data setup and validation, with experience in API testing
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and management tools (e.g. JIRA)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience collaborating with stakeholders
  • Experience in customer support, UAT or production support
  • Mandarin language skill is an added advantage
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or above
