JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing senior architectural leadership, direction, and governance for members of the Solutions Architecture team. The scope of Solutions Architecture includes: leading and supporting enterprise architecture activities that guide the development and management of a portfolio of complex solutions. Solutions can include projects, systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information), and shared services (including infrastructure, application, components and others as necessary). This job provides technical and thought leadership that takes into account the importance of business goals, capabilities, business services and processes to make recommendations for solutions of enterprise scope and complexity within a domain. This job provides the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks to support the development of technology solutions that meet business needs and align with technology and architecture governance and standards to enable and drive targeted business outcomes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds trusted advisor relationships with other areas of the business, including senior leadership and other planning teams. Organizes and plans the technical dependencies across a portfolio of work within a primary domain. Provides technical consultant expertise to turn anticipated business change into a solution; often contributes on strategic initiatives that have a high degree of complexity. Works closely with the product owners and product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway and roadmap that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle within a primary domain
- Documents changes required to achieve business outcomes that consistently follow approved modeling standards. Ensures project-level designs adhere to approved technology standards. Collaborates with Platform Architecture, Solutions Architecture & Business Architecture staff to ensure technical specifications align with solution design and enterprise architecture. Drives solutions for complex projects across multiple domain areas
- Communicates architectural changes to core project teams and relevant service owners via meeting facilitation/presentations. Drives developing a Reference Architecture, which includes technology standards, patterns, and decision frameworks. Drives establishing and governing Solutions Architecture best practices
- Facilitates proof of concepts and solution prototypes working with other Solutions Architects and Application Development teams related to project intakes. Evaluates and validates technologies, and conducts research to mitigate development risks early in the development process
a) Create architectural analysis documentation to guide development teams and inform best practices. Act as the technical authority in meetings, evaluate technical proposals from external suppliers, and make recommendations to senior stakeholders. b) Present and justify solution architecture designs to product and technology leaders and business stakeholders. Work with external vendors to ensure system architectures are robust, scalable, open, and secure. c) Research and prepare technical reports for executive management and manage special technology projects. d) Provide technical leadership in the development and operation of digital services, marketing stack, driving transformational initiatives.
- Mentors other Architects on methods, communication techniques, and business acumen.

EXPERIENCE
Required
- 5 years of experience in technical expertise in both mainframe and/or open systems environments (system software, application software, databases, etc.)
- 5 years of experience in enterprise environment including experience as a technology lead with technical decision making responsibilities and application development or infrastructure services experience
- 5 years of experience in IT solutions delivery
- 5 years of experience in providing consultative solutions architecture and support services of enterprise scope and depth
- 1 year of experience in using modeling languages
- 1 year as a Solutions Architect
Preferred
- 5 years of experience in the healthcare industry
SKILLS
- Data Lakehouse architectures, including cloud-based data warehousing tools such as GCP Dataproc, Confluent Kafa, Apache airflow/Composer, Open Database Format/Apache Iceberg, Google Metastore Metadata layers, Google BigQuery view development using DBT, Starburst federation, Monte Carlo data quality, Atlan data catalogue.
- Healthcare data exchange standards and formats, including HL7 v2 (ADT, SIU, ORU), HL7 v3 (CDA, CCD), and Fast Interoperable Healthcare Resources (FHIR)
- Rest API frameworks, Java development standards and classes for interface programming, Python and Spark development, Advanced SQL
- Github Code repositories, DevOps principles and best practices, YAML cloud configuration management, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Legacy technologies that will be sunset, however will be a nice to have knowledge would be Databricks Medallion architecture, SAS, Teradata

- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
