The Role

We are looking for a technical product manager to join us and work alongside one of our software development teams as their agile scrum product owner. This is an exciting role collaborating with dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues from across the business!

Reporting to the Director of Technical Product Management you will have a background in agile product or project management. A good understanding of software and curious about hardware and biology so you can collaborate with developers, engineers and product owners working on other parts of the product.

The Details

  • Develop a deep understanding of our software product and overall technology solution
  • Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation
  • Work closely with product management and senior management in order to build a product that fits the company strategy
  • Increase the understanding and implementation of Agile practices
  • Collaborate with other product owners to align the software feature releases with the overall product releases
  • Write product specifications to ensure the software team has a clear understanding of requirements
  • Act as the team scrum master by coordinating and leading agile ceremonies for the team

What We Are Looking For

  • A technical background with a computer science degree (or proven experience) plus a solid understanding of agile scrum practices in software product development
  • Experience in roles similar to product owner, project manager or scrum master
  • Ability to facilitate user story sessions and requirements workshops with cross-functional stakeholder groups and technical team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with an ability to detail processes
  • A real passion for technology, innovation and a curiosity about DNA sequencing
  • An ability to build effective relationships and is flexible and collaborative in approach
  • Experience with life sciences or biotechnology products is a plus
