IT Support Engineer

Location: Prestwick, Ayrshire Hours: 37 hours per week (half‑day Friday) Type: Full‑time Salary: £38,466 Travel Required: Occasional Work Location: Site‑based (100%) Security Checks: BPSS, Disclosure Scotland, pre‑employment medical (including drug and alcohol testing)

Prestwick Aerosystems continues Ayrshire’s long‑standing aircraft manufacturing tradition. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide.

You will provide IT support to Prestwick AeroSystems Europe’s sites under the direction of line manager.

Primary responsibility for desktop computing support, in person and remotely, for all employees based at the Prestwick AeroSystems UK site. Additionally, provide non-technical support as directed for infrastructure activities at the UK sites.

How you will contribute to the team

You will:

  • Lead Monitor appropriate Desktop incident ticket system queues, prioritising workload in conjunction with IT team leaders to accommodate multiple conflicting demands.
  • Resolve IT incidents assigned to the UK on-site support queues, carrying out all necessary troubleshooting tasks and escalating to the relevant party when required.
  • Provide technical advice to large user group of UK based Prestwick computing users. Assist with fault resolution for incidents.
  • Carry out service requests within agreed SLAs, i.e. Moves, Adds & Changes.
  • Develop and manage internal customer relationships and be responsive to customer requirements.

Requirements for the role

You will have:

  • Extensive experience of working in a customer support environment.
  • Extensive experience of working with and supporting all the Microsoft operating systems and Office applications.
  • Experience of working with and supporting Citrix client environments.
  • Experience of working in an IT support ticketing system.
  • Basic working level understanding of Local Area Networks preferred.
  • Basic working level understanding of IP Telephony preferred.
