Objective of the position

In this role, you will design and deliver robust embedded software architectures for automotive safety-critical products, including Stoneridge CMS systems and instrument clusters. You will translate customer and product requirements into scalable, maintainable architectures that meet quality, cost, and performance targets while ensuring full traceability of design decisions.

Working with leading truck and bus manufacturers, you will help shape products used across the global commercial vehicle industry. As part of an international, cross-functional team, you will support development, implementation, and verification activities throughout the product lifecycle.

The role offers significant autonomy to make key architectural decisions and drive technical direction. Characterization of activities

  • Design and maintain embedded software architectures based on customer and product requirements, ensuring quality, performance, traceability, and timely delivery.
  • Translate and analyze customer requirements into scalable, modular, reusable, and maintainable software designs, even when requirements are incomplete.
  • Create detailed software designs, schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation using relevant development tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to ensure designs meet all technical and customer requirements, while providing technical leadership and guidance.
  • Support software development, implementation, testing, maintenance, and project planning activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement, share technical expertise, participate in team and process improvement initiatives, and work autonomously while upholding company values and standards

Education, Experience and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Strong English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in international engineering teams.
  • Experience with embedded software development, including embedded operating systems, RTOS, Linux, and/or Windows environments.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture principles, including layered architectures such as AUTOSAR.
  • Knowledge of network technologies and communication protocols used in embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with ASPICE, functional safety, and relevant product safety or environmental regulations is considered an advantage.
